PS4 won’t start

Thought I’d poll everyone on this. Wonder if it’s happened to anyone else and if anyone has tips.
My son went to start the PS4 today and it wouldn’t start. Made him connect the controller by USB (wireless wouldn’t work) and then it booted up asking for a reinstallation file via USB. I tried a couple troubleshooting methods I found on internet (unplugging power cord for 30 seconds, hard shutdown holding power until off and then unplugging power cord for at least 20 minutes, restarting in safe mode and doing a restart that way). I did the safe mode start and did the system software update, but same thing still happened.
Anyway, saw a YouTube video of guy with same issue and he did the reinstall like it’s asking. If course, if I do that, it’s a complete reinstall and everything gets deleted. I’m a PS plus member, so I should be able to have other certain things saved like trophies and such, right? My son’s big into tracking trophies.
And I saw PS plus members can redownload game saves from the cloud (assuming the latest is up there). I also used an external hard drive. I can’t Remember if it was just game applications there or if it was saved game items etc.
Anyone have this happen? Any help is appreciated. Didn’t know where else to turn. Want to exhaust options before I have to reinitialize the entire system.

I can’t get on a chat. It just keeps bringing me to the troubleshooting page. So dumb.
So, DD completely saves online, right? So if I had to reinstall, it wouldn’t be an issue? Same for Call of Duty multiplayer?
Anyone else have ideas or have it happen.

Anyone else have ideas or have it happen.I will try and see how to get on a chat. I had the same chat problem a few days ago. Give me a few.

Small update. I got a hold of PlayStation support through Twitter and after everything, they said I needed to do a hard, factory reset using the file via USB. I’m back in now, and can get back to some items after signing back in with my PS plus membership. Also can download some things via the online storage but nothing recent. This just kind of sucks

So, I had to redo some of my settings. Can anyone tell me how to switch off the cut scene and changes before delivering the pitch? I can’t remember where it is.

Check presentation settings. Could be there. Can’t remember what it’s called and I don’t have the PS4 handy to check. Something about pre-pitch camera... there’s a few corresponding settings for it about the different situations it will appear in also.
