Anyone else not beat Extreme Showdown?
-
I've had to have made over 200 attempts at this point. When it first came out I made it to the final showdown almost every time. Now I can't even seem to get past the 3rd boss. Honestly, you get a great line-up that hitting bombs left and right. You get to the next boss, still on All Star, and the bats go silent and everything you hit is directly into the glove, or some miraculous catch. I don't want to give up, but something tells me I'm just not gonna do it.

Tried like 7-8 times and can’t get past the fourth boss so yea
-
Cbrev has a terrific video on how to beat it.
-
Ooops, sorry, you said showdown, I thought conquest for some reason.
Here ya go.

I got to pearson first attempts got to 19-20 and even 20-20 just couldn't get that last run. Now same can't get past 3rd boss.

Take pitches 100%. Obviously in the Pearson moment. But it’s also critical in the moment where you face Chapman/Hoffman/Smoltz. You can get them into yellow/red after about 35-50 pitches. Then just tee off.
Skip the Sale/Feller moment. Unless you absolutely know you can beat it, or feel like you need the 3 runs.
Vs Pearson, take until 2 strikes. Don’t be afraid to take strike 3 early in the showdown too. Some of the pitches are that close. He’ll walk in a ton of runs as long as you let him. Sit fastball early and try to square one up. Once his energy/confidence get low sit off speed, they hang. Don’t panic when it gets close 19-20, 20-20. Find a pitch to hit, and get it done.
I finally beat it Monday, with 6 outs to play with. Make sure you have speed on the bench to run.

Has anybody tried to not swing at any pitch for the entire Pearson battle? just to see if he walks you to a win

Haven't even tried it, and don't plan to .

Man, I've had most of these guys in the black and there still is no teeing off. The first time I faced Pearson, I had it down to 17-20 with 13 outs to go. He had no energy at all and the tee-off all of a sudden came to a stop...Pearson seemed to rejuvenate himself and paint every low and outside and away corners, and anything hit was a lazy fly ball or miraculous catch. I really don't know why I keep going for it. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

Another time I faced him I scored 6 runs on 1 hit because I just started sitting back on em all.

Try just beating just the first boss ... and 2nd if it's easy for you (never was for me) and then skip to the final boss. With 30 outs and taking a lot of pitches I was able to finish him off with like 12 outs left. I'm not that great at Showdowns either. Goodluck!

Yes, most I've scored is 9. Did this a few times while I was working remotely just to see how many walks he would give.
