It was odd he was not mentioned however I would lean to think he will be in the game

I would be so so so surprised if he wasn't. He's a fan favourite. He has no issues circulating the media that I'm aware of. And I'm pretty sure he's still working MLB Network, so he's still very prevalent in baseball.

They mysteriously didn't show the diamond legends pack and skipped it so if I had to guess he's there along with an unrevealed legend(s)

I think that pretty much confirms it, if you noticed when they were talking about Juan Pierre, they referenced Ichiro, but didn't say his name. I don't think they bring up guys that aren't in the game.

They mentioned Ichiro when talking about the XP reward path though. They were just talking about one of the choice packs, saying it is the equivalent to the “Ichiro and Kershaw” pack from last year. I think the Thomas comment means more than that does though.
