You can just put a Topps now team together. What a waste leaving up. Topps cards. Are over kill
Came for the nihilism.
Left disillusioned.
-
Yes the topps now card plays above their stat sometimes. Still, they are not Trout, Babe level, the pitcher is also not Kluberish or Orel-ish good, they are just kinda good.
-
The Topps cards are more for fun and squad builders.

Meh, most people have stopped playing anyway (you can look up server activity, it's down 70%). With Madden dropping, and FIFA on it's way, the show will die a slow death this year.
Those other games give you way more ways to play the game offline, grind for great awards, etc. Heck, at least on FIFA you can play their BR mode offline and pick your difficulty. The show has a long way to go.
ARE YOU FREAKIN LOST?!?!?!?!?
only way for you to build quickly in those games is to break out the CC. the show does it wallet free....
come back later and try again
Lol this is the only game that allows you to convert real money to fake currency and buy whoever you want for a dollar sign.
-
Topps now have actual good quirks on them!! Based on there live series cards! Probably a big reason they hit so well !!

Tops Now cards will give way to easily earned 'Finest' cards in a few weeks. Late in the cycle it will not be uncommon to see a complete team of finest players capable of outperforming a legendary team you have done all the hard work to put together.
And that is OK. Did you have fun putting together the team you wanted? Did you have fun collecting the cards?
Late adopters may have a harder time getting Mantle, Biggio, and Trout on their teams. Late adopters have no access to the free Boss level cards you earned through the Innings Programs because without the vouchers there is no way to earn enough stars...It's OK. Newcomers need a way to compete or they won't stick around. If you want the same juiced high end cards, you have just as much ability to acquire them.
Last year this game was fun to play all through the winter.

Agreed they are more like window dressing or eye candy. Don’t play like the big boys do though

How much real money do I need to convert to fake currency to buy Babe Ruth? I want Babe Ruth for $!

Yea see that can’t happen. Another solid point sir

To me the Topps now cards don’t do well outside of the moments to collect them. Maybe it’s me but they just don’t play to their stats.
-
Over kill? No. Overly juiced? Yes. But like everyone else said it’s for the players who pick up the game for Xmas/Black Friday for $20 or cheaper and expect to have some kind of gratification when they go online for the first time. Who wants to play an online game and get slaughtered because they didn’t play from launch day? Not me
-
Started playing DD last year and I know I sold everyone of the Topps now and POTM cards I earned or got from a pack. I wasnt doing collections so that factored in but it was pretty clear to me they weren't gonna stand up agains the top SS cards that were everywhere. These cards are fun and I dont think there as good as the top cards out but they can definitely be used in your lineup if you want to change things up and see some new names on the field. I know im not looking forward to pitching to Lowe, Grissom, or Shaw late in a game pen down into a righty vs lefty situation
-
I'm not sure why this is a problem?

Lol you buy points in EA games not coins, points can’t be taken to the market and used on whoever you want, you can’t just BUY everyone like people claim, that’s actually this game.
One system converts real dollars into in game currency, and the other system doesn’t allow it. People on here would have you believe it’s the other way around, but that’s the 3000 hours it tooo to get those cards talking, not the money they saved.

True but those points allow you to buy a pack which gives you a card to sell for coins that you can then spend on the card you want. Same process just an extra step or too

your subject header is a perfect question for this game on a macro level - i used to play tons and the less i play the more rewarding each time i turn on is
-
There isn't a Topps Now card that will make my roster outside of Turner if I want a burner with a little pop off the bench, but even then, I have better options.
-
With Cyberpunk 2077 a month away, I'm about done for the year. That game is going to consume me.
At this point in the game's life cycle, I'm just burnt out on the grind for most cards. Grinded for Mickey, Jackie, Trout, Tatis, all of the POTM, all of the Topps Now, all of Team Affinity and most of the Babe moments. Not to mention, with RS being a total mess and waste of time with the server issues getting worse - it's time to hit the reset button.
I've sold off most of my diamonds that aren't No Sell to just collect Stubs for Chipper, Mays or Junior.
