Thoughts on Maddux?

Just wondering what you guys think about how he plays?

Could be great if there wasn't a blackhole in the center of the strikezone that pulls every pitch into it. Keeps hitters off balance for sure, but Maddux's bread and butter was being able to blindly locate every pitch he threw. Hard to paint the corners when your pitchers never stay on the corners.

I've had great success using him in ranked. You have to be more tactful with your pitching because he isn't going to blow anyone away with his fastball (although his 4 seam is quick enough if your opponent isn't prepared). The one pitch that gets hit hard is the cutter that slides over the middle or the low-mid sinker.
What he is great at is inducing weak contact and messing with timing. I throw more pitches of the plate with Maddux than any of my other pitchers and it usually works in my favor.

Love him, excited how much better he will be once I prestige him.

He's been great for me in about 7 or 8 RS games. I use his change up and cutter sparingly though. I work a lot more off his fastball and sinker. Probably only throw the curve 2 or 3 times in a game and he hasn't gone under 7 innings for me yet.

I prefer his cutter to his sinker, sinker tends to get rocked if you use it too much. All pitches are effective, just a matter of finding which ones your opponent struggles with. The fastball is sneaky good in the fact it allows you to paint corners and steal strikes from guys who take too many pitches.
