Are there really cheat codes that people can put in to assist them in online games? There has been many a time that i will get into a game and as soon as we start my opponent will pause the game over and over.
I will be playing a ranked season game and while i am pitching they start out swinging at everything and then pause the game then all of a sudden know exactly where the next pitches are going to be, even if it is one of those pitches that should be called a strike but isnt, they dont swing?
They pause it while batting and then all of a sudden my pitcher cant hit water if he fell out of a boat?it just seems odd when the game gets paused and the batters they use can hit every time right to a place my defenders are not. bloops and grounders just out of reach.
I am just getting frustrated because things do not seem to be on the up and up. I welcome all replies -

Cheat codes ? No. Change settings? Yes.
I do feel your pain. But lately it's in reverse. I'll give up runs early then lockdown the rest. I might be one of the players you faced..
I play on a TV, fisheye camera, zone plus analog and stride. It's all a big disadvantage but it's the most enjoyable to me. My biggest strength is strategy and "guess pitching". (Not actual GP but sitting on pitches) Very often I'll get torn up 2 times through the lineup , then bam.
Also a lot of people simply swing for the fastball.

I welcome all repliesI just assume they are pausing to analyze pitch sequences or looking at data to help them guess my next pitch(s). Or, they just dont have an ideal gaming environment like i do. OR, they keep asking Mom for more meatloaf. One of those 3.

I just assume when people pause over and over again that they’re trying to explain the importance of that particular online game to their six year old who desperately need something from the garage at that very moment. Then, when they come back their six year old has acknowledged that it is in an important game and has decided to remain absolutely silent for the next 45 minutes. That’s why they focus better.

There aren't actual cheat codes, and I miss cheat codes/hidden unlockables. Imagine if Retro mode was more like The Bigs or Slugfest, and you could have cheats for big heads or infinite fire, or max stamina etc.
Dude slugfest and the bigs were both awesome games. If only I still owned a console that could play those (I guess I still have a wii but trying to get ahold of versions of those that work would be difficult)

I swear sometimes it feels like my opponent is playing the game with his feet they're so bad and next time through the lineup he's like a WS ranked player and smashes everything. I've also had the reverse happen where a guy jumps all over my in the first inning for 3-4 runs and then it looks like he handed the controller to his 3 year old. It's odd man and it keeps me guessing, I can't fathom what's happening on the other end. I do know this, I play a lot during the day and these guys, most likely kids, are almost all locked in from the get go. Everything is a nuke and mistakes are gone.
