I haven't read through this thread until now. I still cant believe people advocate for Bonds over Ruth. I know I have had discussions about this plenty before, but it still confuses me that people side with anyone over Ruth.

because you just believe the hype that is ruth and I wonder if you actually saw bonds play- none of us saw ruth, I saw bonds plenty- in 99 I went to 82 of 85 home d-back games thanks to the old $1 ticket they used to sell

    https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/ruthba01.shtml

    https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/bondsba01.shtml

compare the numbers and not just hr, rbi, ruth was done at 39, Bonds could've clearly gone on to probably 45 ala rickey Henderson.

I am not picking one of the other but Ruth also was a pitcher. They are both in the convo. I will take Ty Cobb

if you aint cheating you aint trying, cheating has been going on in sports since the inception of sports just sometimes people get caught. had they admitted to it, no worries water under the bridge.

So if someone else does it first it's not bad?

Your honor people have been stealing for years...I'm just stealing to help support my family...I'm really trying..

Judge: your right people have been stealing for years....if ur not stealing your not trying....water under the bridge...

    Gavel taps

Your right if u ain't stea

true story- the spartans encouraged their young males to steal yet severely beat them when they were caught hence don't get caught or else you're gonna get beaten- no rich person living (minus trust fund babies, lottery winners and insurance recipients) hasn't cheated someone or done something shady to become rich and get where they are its the nature of life. not all people but most would do something shady to be on top but of those the majority are too scared to act so they do nothing, others aren't afraid and act and some of those get caught, some don't and never will, we don't live in a truly honorable society it's all a facade. very few in this world are completely blameless which means very few should be casting stones. they messed up, got caught, they should've owned up like men and apologized for getting caught-("I'm sorry" is the most overused lie ever told- if a person was truly sorry they wouldn't have done something they new would cause the reaction they're gonna get or getting) their attitude towards the entire situation is why I can't stand 'em and they'll always be the "30th" team in my eye. A.J. Hinch I respect because he owned up like a man and took responsibility like a general should do, the players still act like rich frat kids who think they are impervious to consequence. I wish the A's would've been allowed to beat them for real though the Astros players seem like they'd be too ignorant to get it anyway.
To sum it up, don't get caught.

This is interesting. That is a pretty good comparison to the Astros. 🙂

Wouldn’t it be crazy if they came back and did it? Tall task, but karma comes back..

Every Astros fan says the same thing.

"We aren't the only ones who cheated" "It's in the past, let it go" "haters gonna hate" "Everyone does it"

Astros will be hated for a decade, or until everyone from this team has gone their separate ways. So, all you Astros fans can buckle up, because this isn't ending anytime soon.

They will always be cheaters to me. If they break the core group up then I will feel different about them (the Astros). Until then, I think they are tainted.

If you read this Petravork.. still love ya man. Haha.

It’ll start this upcoming offseason with Springer walking. I’m hoping the Jays make a push for him. They haven’t had an impactful CF for years and he’d be a great fit

Think a big reason why the Astros are so hated for it isn’t just because they cheated, it’s because of how they acted during those cheating seasons when people would accuse them and how they acted after everything broke... especially Correa.

I just love how the Astros could win and they could either play the Yankees or get further than them.... Yankees and maybe Dodgers fans are only ones who care

They just won. I now REALLY want them to face the Yankees. If not, make it and lose to the Dodgers in the WS. 🙂

Lol. Best SP pitchers, gone, hadn't been there all year. Best hitter, gone, hasn't been there all year, best CP, gone, once again not a factor all year. Now they can't hit because they aren't cheating. 4th straight ALCS? Check. Lol

No way the Astros get past the Ray's or Yankees. I don't care how hot the bats get. But they won already.

Also to add. Another reason the Astros will not win the ALCS, they wont have home field advantage at Dodger stadium like they did for the ALDS. So probably not 33 runs in 4 games.

I agree that they won't win, but they might win a game!
Question for you: Was the plan with Greinke in the WIld Card to pitch him 4, and have him ready for game 3 if needed, OR a game 2 if necessary?

Cheating years ago I can understand it a little bit more because the players made no money unless you are a superstar. Those players had regular jobs also aside playing ball. The big payout was the playoffs and the World Series . So the piece of garbage Astros are in fact a piece of garbage!!

    Haters gonna hate! 😄

It is to be expected. It would be awesome as heck, tho, if the Stros did find a way to pull out another WS Championship for this bizarre season. Yes, this is definitely an "asterisk type of year," but it would be a bit of sweet justice - #Redemption. I would be beyond happy, but I wouldn't brag like would have in the past. I would sit back and revel in amount of seething hate all of the haters have to offer and just celebrate with my city!

I am so proud of this team for putting together something worth rooting for! Like ChuckCLC said, it's a longshot, but they've given themselves a chance! Let's keep it rolling! Plus, I am loving Carlos Correa talkin' the talk and walkin' the walk! You CANNOT argue with his playoff results, so far!!! Thumbs (and maybe just a teeny-tiny bit of a middle finger) way up! 😉

If they won this year, that would be interesting... Not sure what everyone's reaction would be. Probably angry and saying they cheated again. lol
