Do you think it is harder to get to the higher ranks the later into the season we get?

I am not a WS Player (yet), but I have made CS twice this year. Last season I got to DS and this season I keep yo-yoing from PR to WC.

I feel like Opponents in the 500/600 ranking are more like 700/800 type players this late in the season. Anyone else feel this way too or have I just played too much of this game that I am just getting worse now? Lol

The difference is in the difficulty settings. You're currently playing your games on All-Star, anybody can hit on All-Star. You can literally win or lose against anybody, the randomness is insane. So it feels like you're playing good opponents, which could still be the case of course, but it's usually just the difficulty decreasing the skill gap and so everybody looks like a good player on All-Star.

From 700-900 you play on Hall of Fame, which is not perfect either but it separates the casuals from the above average players for sure. Keep in mind that both you and your opponent need to be ranked 700+ for the game to be played on HOF. If you or him is in the 700s and the other is under 700, it will still be played on All-Star.

Not sure if that answers your question fully, but that's my take on it.

I’ve been a pretty consistent CS player, made WS once a couple seasons ago but ever since then I have trouble just maintaining DS. I don’t know what happened but I can’t seem to get my rating higher nearly as easy as I use to. I’m currently ranked around 7,000 lifetime and about 90% of the people I play are ranked in the top 4,000-5,000 lifetime, I couldn’t tell you the last time I played a ranked seasons game and just easily rolled through it.

    Agreed.

On all star much of the outcome is taken out of the users' hands. The PCI's are too big, the pitch speeds too low and there's far too much randomness in what falls in as a basehit. Add to that the fact that pitching can at times be an absolute [c]rapshoot and there you have it.

But, of course, many of the casuals that were playing the game early on in the game's lifecycle are now gone and the people that are left tend to be at least semi-decent at the game simply based on time spent with the game alone.
