Showdown run time

In my opinion it takes too long for a run. I just spent 1 hour and a half going through the 6th inning showdown. I did all right through the missions. I went into the final showdown and hit into 3 perfect perfect outs. I had 1 perfect perfect land. The RNG can be crazy and it makes it hard for me to want to play showdown if I’m putting in a bunch of time and getting no reward for it. @Collin_SDS @Victor_SDS @Pat_SDS

I agree. Especially if you fail, you just wasted 2 hours, even if it wasn’t your fault!

Some was my fault but some was the games RNG. I was playing ok but the game wouldn’t reward me at all

This showdown is a definite pain.
I needed 3 shots at Maddux to finally beat him on a DeJong 2-R HR with 1 out left. You need to shift your thinking on this one.
Taking pitches won't work. He will not tire and with his control will probably never walk you.
Taking pitches puts you in 2 strike counts where he will dot a change up 1 cm on the black or a cutter that starts outside and at the last second darts into the zone.If you get something early swing away. Do not take risks on the bases and have at least 3 speed guys on the bench just in case.

Thanks! It isn’t worth 4-5 hours only for 70 program stars. I only walked once, I maybe should be a little more aggressive! I hit the change up well. He rarely threw a cutter or 4 seamer. They need to make showdown take 45 minutes-1 hour

If you do tackle it again...
I ended up using some righties that blasted Maddux; Eugenio Suarez, DeJong and Rhys Hoskins.
Also keep in mind that this is a shorter program, 20 days left, so you might need the 70 stars. -
For the 1 pt missions if you don't get it in the first at bat / pitching attempt quit and move on.
Almost the same approach for the 2pt ones as well depending how much you need the runs.
If its late in the run and you only have 4-6 runs accumulated then you should probably try to complete those as much as you can. Save me some time when I try to knock those out.

Yes, I hate showdown with a passion. I was able to beat Maddux first time down 10-15 with 10 outs to spare. Speed speed speed is the key. My whole lineup was lefty power and my bench was all speed. I used almost the whole bench. He doesn't throw hard so stealing and sacs is a must
-
its crazy but this showdown was the easiest for me and i normally suck at them .. I beat maddux with 17 outs to go .. have mostly lefty power bats other than Eric Davis the 79 silver and Suarez ..and they were clutch but the man that killed the most was Stan he hit 2 bombs off him 1 to win the game

2 speed guys and a very good bunter is my strategy

I’ve posted this before, but if you switch you’re hitting view to pitcher you can see what pitch is going to be thrown before it’s thrown. It takes a little to get used to but is really beneficial in showdown. This will work with about 80 percent of the pitchers you’ll face.

I really like the concept of showdown, but in execution it needs some tweaking IMO. The moments need to be kept short and sweet. Maybe having some way of earning a "continue" or 2 would be great as well to add to the old video game vibe of having 'bosses'. Maybe even give 1 "re-do" of a mission each round.

I have an idea, how bout instead of losing all your progress if you somehow lose to a boss why not penalize you by increasing the runs at the end game boss say by 2 so instead of it being 15 runs it’s becomes 17 runs or subtract your earned run total by 2. Just an idea

First run I had on the second inning showdown I was going fine and all of a sudden my game freezes and I have to dashboard and go back in and says I failed. I understand the issue that they dont want people dashboarding to complete the showdowns but if you are having the game cheat by having common fielders making plays like Jim Edmonds I mean come on. There has to be a balance.
Showdown is a cash cow for SDS cause if they make so you fail most of the mission you get very little stubs and then you forfeit to try again. They didn't make anything off of the moments last year and have now found a way to cash in on offline players.

I have emailed SDS saying the same thing and have heard crickets. There is no reason to have to do the whole run over again.
