Sounds like CPU game on Rookie level, or RS game in the 350-450 range.
It was RS & I’m in the 500’s right now.

I used him once last night. My opponent was high 600s IIRC and Maddux got destroyed. Usually, a somewhat bad outing first time I use someone wouldn't bother me much but just about every ball the guy hit was hit hard, and he hit quite a few.
His cutter didn't seem to have much "bite" to it and had a tendency to flatten out to lefties and his Snk doesn't have enough velocity to use in combination with his Circle.
He may end up being lights out once you reach HOF and the PCIs get smaller but on AS level, my opponent wasn't having any difficulty with him.
Take this with a grain of salt. I only used him in one RS game and one Event with similar results. I am by no means great at this game but I can usually hold my own. My pitchers have ERAs anywhere between 2.4 - 4 so it isn't a case of me just being a horrible pitcher.
Just my thoughts on a very small sample.

I want to clarify that I not only wasn't trying to troll you; I wasn't even trying to be slightly critical about the outcome YOU had.
I was only responding in reference to whether we can know Maddux is great yet.
If you were simply sharing a great game, I wouldn't have posted about your opponent. But knowing information about the opponent helps to add context to the review, especially if the review is based on 1 outing.

Anyone is good against the CPU. If you allow more than 2 runs against the CPU you are trash

Haven’t got him Prestiged yet!! Need to get on it. Doing offline conquest right now and I’m so bored. Thinking about switching over to the event and just having fun. I still have showdown and conquest to knock out. Already got the 10 event wins so I switched over to this offline stuff to maybe get Maddux or Musial this weekend. I’m picking one or the other. Offline is so boring to me.
At this point I wish we didn’t have to grind any offline stuff. I get it though. I know some people like it, so it’s whatever.
I haven’t t used Hershiser much. I have him, only had a few starts with him though. Need to get a feel for him.
Offline is a drag. Reminds me of gaming when i was a child when someone else wasn't around. Seems pointless in 2020.

Okay here is a honest review. Everyone bats above .330 in WS and by the time you get there your ERA is +5. You don’t need to keep entering these threads only to be disappointed it wasn’t a WS player telling you how effective some pitcher is, none of them are.

The most recent events have been a gift to get him prestiged, it’s a must do! He is also dirt cheap for how he plays! It’s amazing his sinker can hit 96 and curve at 68!
I should have him prestiged soon, that pitch mix is amazing. Change eye levels with the sinker and cutter, then get them swinging out of their socks on the curve. Only issue I've had with him is giving up the big inning in either the 6th or 7th when he's rolling.

You're missing the point.
Nobody said you had to be a WS player.
But, If I came in here and gave a review of how I dominated with a particular card pitching a no-hitter with 21 strikeouts, and I didn't mention that it was against either the CPU on Rookie Level or an RS game where my opponent had a losing record 3 times over, barely hitting a buck fifty, then how much credibility would my review deserve? The answer is ZERO, because there is absolutely no competition in either scenario.
That's what the poster was doing is all I'm sayin'. It's misleading.

I think it’s safe to say that ALL pitchers in this game get smoked, It’s just the way The Show 20 plays. Was the guy I played not very good - absolutely. Will I eventually play someone that will mercy me while I’m using Maddux - Absolutely. But why I love Maddux and why I posted was to let people know that his control is the best in the game. You can put the ball EXACTLY where you want it. I did that all game long, Had nothing to do with my opponent’s quality. That to me is the most important feature in pitchers this year - The ability to locate. That’s all I’m saying. If you use Maddux your pitches will go where they are intended.

I faced him in events and you can really recognize all his pitches easily.
Hit alot of balls hard, did lose the gm cause alot of them didn't find grass.
Might be better on HOF or legend, I doubt it though. Was one of the easiest to read this yr!! -
