Going Forward I Need To Have Zero Expectations For Online Play To Resemble Baseball
-
The only way I might be able to enjoy online play at all anymore is to go in with the mindset of only caring about racking up innings and stats. I cannot begin to think about wins or losses or expecting even a decent representation of the game of baseball. The way they have programmed this year's game is atrocious. It basically just generates totally random outcomes for hitting, pitching, and fielding no matter what you do and the game usually feels like the outcome is predetermined.
Where I go wrong is expecting baseball outcomes to happen in this baseball game and when they don't happen, I get extremely frustrated. Events are better than RS, but no online play mode shines. The play on All-Star online is the worst offender by far of totally random happenings. Unfortunately, the majority of online play you are stuck playing on All-Star.
I believe you can make a great baseball simulation even with a card collecting mode featuring players from different eras. SDS has not accomplished this at all with online DD play. While the amount of content and quality of it has been great, they have totally failed with how the game performs online. The worst part is that they force online play on you to prestige players, earn program stars from daily challenges, and earn unique rewards. If online wasn't required for all this, I'd rarely play online due to the state of online play. I only try to stomach online play to get rewards. However, I'd be much happier if online play was just an option, and you could do everything else vs. CPU. If this was the case, I'd immediately stop playing online to not have to deal with it's bugs and total inconsistency.

Welp, that's what happens in baseball sometimes pal. You walked a guy, and he ended up coming around to score a walk off in extra innings. That is EXACTLY how baseball works, and there's a reason the saying "Walks come back to haunt you" exist.
Also, Scott and Hal are terrible online, so I'd look at using different SP next time. AND, it's a bit of Karma, using two SP in one game (that's also not how baseball works, but it didn't seem to bother you when you made that decision)
And aslo, also, also, Mo is awful online, don't use him again

It's not about one game genius

Oh right, my bad. Your game just ended, and you instantly jumped on here to complain about the game due to a result you got in Late April. I appreciate that, you took time to reflect before sharing your comments publicly. We can all learn from you.

And Rivera hadn't given up a run in about 20 online innings to that point. I don't think any pitchers are reliable online. The outcomes are totally random. And who made you king of the forum, Mr. Perfect? Get off your high horse kid.

Sorry you didn't get the response you wanted, let me try again.
Oh my gosh, I know right? Can you believe last night, I played a guy, and he beat me! No way he was better than me! No stinking way! I dropped $3,000 on this game, I deserve to win!
There, hope that helps.

Playing online is definitely just an option! Prestige programs are pointless, and should be burned. Besides those you can get everything else by just playing offline since every online earned reward is sellable. The same can not be said for people who hate playing the CPU with moments being forced on us.

I completely agree here. I do grind stats for prestige, but I can only think of 2 cards in which it made an actual impact. I am thankful that SDS has at least tried to keep offline relevant (MTO and RTTS are great).

At the end of the day, it’s a video game. Very few, if any, sports games are completely accurate representations of real life sports, especially when you move to online where it’s all about winning. The guy who won the last big Madden tournament ran the ball every play and had a punter as his QB.
