I play this game for a couple hours most days but it’s almost exclusively at night, so I’ll usually focus on one mode or program at a time. After playing nothing but showdowns for the past few nights, I feel absolutely abysmal at this game when I’m trying to play the cpu on allstar. I’ve always done the POTM programs without exchanges in case you’re asking why I even bother with it. I’m obviously still winning by a convincing amount, but I’ve never felt this frustrated with my timing and this bad at pitch recognition. I guess I need to do some legend batting practice to get back into my groove.

Legend batting practice hits way different than veteran and even rookie on showdowns. There is no way that Rivera is on veteran. The ball does not travel the same when hit. It's so obvious that they are messing with sliders. Even if it is on, "veteran," the fielders are on legend. So many diving stops for outs. It's comical.

Yea they just need to change the advertised difficulty to "???"

I’m winning all my showdowns, it’s just made me absolutely useless at other modes right now.

I feel like the timing has significantly changed since this last patch. I'm definitely needing a slumpbuster but 2020 is winning.

Yeah, I have beaten the CPU on Legend now more than once, actually 2-0. But i still have issues with inconsistent hitting in Showdown. Not with Bosses(well i did hit into 5 DPs last night, but that was my fault once i started looking for the low change up as soon as i got runners on, i beat it with only making 1 more out) it is the Blue moments that really bother me. The other day i had to go into Catfish Hunter down 5-15. I plaid every moment, but i lost that many.

I now beat it 90 to 95% of the time, once i switched to SZ2 camera from SZ3. But there is no doubt it plays differently than any other mode.

Timing feels off for the offline modes lately and veteran has become really awful. Timing is tough to find and when you find it, the contact is mushy.

Congrats to you for winning them all. I dont.

The amount of double plays induced is probably way higher than any other mode. The fact that you cannot even sac bunt without popping it up is even more frustrating.

I definitely don’t win them all, especially my first few East runs and my first West one against Hershiser, but I’ve been on a good showdown run lately.

I had a final showdown run against Hershiser where I grounded into 6 double plays, hit a perfect/perfect out off his foot, and hit into an F8-2 double play to end it at 15-15.

I’ve never hated hitting singles until this year with showdowns.

Yup, I beat most my showdowns, but I’m done with them. So frustrating and not enjoyable relying on the randomness of perfect outputs and the CPU.

So if showdown is causing slumps id reccomend doing a COTW run like, give it your best possible shot for 3 outs. Then go try a RS game. Or, juice up some pitchers in edit player and then play custom BP on legend. My BP rounds usually consist of a edited Chapman and I play 3 outs against him (repeat play: off) then a juiced cole and do the same. After 6 outs even if i had a bad round. I'll go jump into RS
