SDS, Time to Admit Online Only Prestige Was a Mistake
-
It is time for SDS to admit that having the prestige grinds be online only was a big mistake and move them to any mode (ie offline included) within the next update or two. The prestige grind has completely ruined events with a huge swath of people playing just for prestige (ie hitting and quitting, pitching and quitting, or just outright asking for stats), which has taken the fun out of events and made them into nothing more than grinding opportunities.
The idea that it takes more skill and/or time to prestige a card online went out the window as soon as these cards were included in events and thus allowing people who prefer to play offline wouldn’t change any dynamic in the prestige process other than to clean up events AND likely make a ton of their customers very happy.
Forcing people to play online to prestige cards didn’t work and it’s past time to rectify this mistake and move all these grinds to any mode.

I never see quitting on me as a bad thing, unless you're using events to simply grind prestige too? I play events for wins and rewards. People quitting gets me there quicker.

I used it for Felix and Leiter grind and it was great ... I am not a great hitter so I rather upgrade my Ps

Ok, but why couldn’t that be done offline too? The time difference between doing a pitching grind in an event and offline is minimal.

I agree with u. I would be able to do hitter ones if it was offline too. I have said from beginning I def agree with you.

At this point I wouldn’t mind it. I was never one for boosting anyway( I have like 5 prestige programs done but 4 of them are pitchers), but It would save events from the boosters and beggers(I could maybe turn messages on again), and it would be good to prestige guys like hanley and Helton that I don’t use online or in conquest
-
Seems like I hardly play offline anymore, only at the start of an Inning or when a new conquest map drops. That said offline prestige would be very nice. Maybe make something like 90 hits vs the CPU on All Star difficulty or higher, so that way it isn't just a repeat of 18.
I would be nice to have both options though.

Welcome to the weekly @GradektheBard complaint about online prestiging

Maybe set it up the way 2K (hate to give them credit!) did for "Evolution Players" this year? The cards that you could evolve to the highest level would a lot of the time have multiple tiers with multiple missions per level (score 200 points, get 50 rebounds, get 20 blocks as an example). These missions could be done both online and offline.
-
Or fix dashboarding

And until they admit it was a mistake and change it, I (and many others) will keep making this suggestion. I think you are vastly underestimating the size of the “offline” customer base.

I disagree that it was a mistake.it was intentional, so many ppl on the forums last couple of years about online missions, either new players or quickly forgetting what 17was like.this was done as proof why it's a terrible idea to have online only missions
-
I am just not going to prestige anyone.

They don’t owe you or anyone any admission. They chose to go that route. Does it work perfectly? Of course it doesn’t. Even I get annoyed about how it plays out but I’m not gonna complain and expect them to come out and specifically admit that what they did was wrong? No business would. What you’re expecting from them is assinine
-
Victor shows up in minutes for someone complaining about lag but complete silence on this since launch. Terrible.
-
I prefer to keep it where it is and just fix dashboarding.
An alternative might be to only require innings online for hitters and pitchers both. 500 for hitters seems reasonable. Maybe 100 for pitchers.

I think we as outsiders have no idea what the size of the offline customer base is.
I think SDS knows the size down to the person. And any speculation about base size either way is just that: speculation. Also, and this can't be overstated: this is a business and SDS has a financial incentive to push online play. Frankly, they deserve kudos for making as much of the card catalog offline-acquirable as it is.

They effectively did in 17 when they moved all the programs to any mode after like the second set.

I think prestiging online is how it should be, but the dashboarding issue needs to be fixed for it to remain like that.
