have been fairly bored recently and have decided to start maybe a series of posts on here if you guys like them. I’m starting with TA1 FOTF cards for simplicity as I have used all these cards at least once. Note: this is my opinion so don’t take this too seriously
Note 2: I am going to rank these based on their usability now, even though these cards aren’t even bench bats anymore and would only make teams just starting out. I say this mostly because Snell is a lot lower in the ranking due to the players league card etc.

    1. Juan Soto- I don’t think any one card has hit more homeruns in my time playing than him. Both for me and my opponents. I’m more scared to pitch to this card than Mantle
    2. Matt Olson- Diamond fielding at 1B, great swing, everyone loves him, probably the one I have used the second most
    3. Gleyber Torres- nothing much to say here, he hits tanks. Still has the most AB on my team and I took him out of the lineup long ago
    4. Yoan Moncada- great and I mean great card, power vs L is a little low for my liking but otherwise nothing wrong with this card
    5. Fernando Tatis Jr. - There are no real holes in this card and might actually be higher if I used him more but 5 seems right
    6. Byron Buxton- Phenomenal in the field, gitch of a swing. Only reason he isn’t number 1 is because his contact ratings make his PCI small
    7. Charlie Blackmon- Might be a little high but I still think he is one of the best bench bats around for budget squads
    8. Shohei Ohtani- Is hard to pick up at the plate, throws gas, can hit. Only problem is that he is hard to control
    9. Joey Gallo- he isn’t nearly what he was the previous 2 years but still hits tanks
    10. Carlos Santana- Rounding out the top 10. He’s able to play catcher, which is the reason he is this high, switch hitting helps
    11. Rafael Devers- I expected this card to be much lower but he kills the ball for me when I use him. Easily the most underrated of all of them
    12. Ozzie Albies- Destroys lefties, plays solid defense, but swings a wet noodle vs. RHP and I’m personally not a fan of small strike zones
    13. Carlos Correa- is still a pretty good card but the POTM renders this card completely useless
    14. Blake Snell- Hard to Control but has a funky release. Would easily be higher if not for the PL card
    15. Josh Bell- Middle of the pack for the TA 1 first baseman and TA1 overall. Switch hitting is the only thing that puts him above the next 3
    16. Kyle Seager- I really love his swing and has good power, but he has a tiny PCI even on allstar due to his contact
    17. Michael Conforto- nice swing, good pop, average defense. Not bad as a bench bat
    18. Anthony Rizzo- I really like his swing but other than that he’s a slow first baseman, pretty much gives you what you expect
    19. David Peralta- very nice swing and good fielding, but doesn’t have the attributes pop out at you
    20. Whit Merrifield- I wanted to like this card and is certainly good for a contact hitter. Positional flexibility is good
    21. Justin Turner- good vs lefties but poor fielding and a relatively bad swing ruins him
    22. Joey Votto- Nice swing but the worst of the first baseman. Likely gets a better card later on anyway
    23. Lorenzo Cain- good fielder but just not my favorite. Anyone higher on this list I classify as good. Anyone below falls into the bad category
    24. Brian Anderson- has 2B secondary which is nice, but he’s not good enough to put any higher
    25. Trey Mancini- Pretty average across the board with the hitting attributes, not good fielding, below average swing
    26. Aaron Nola- better than Boyd, but still not great
    27. Matt Boyd- Easy to pick up release, easily the worst pitcher of this group, sinker is a plus though
    28. Vlad Jr. - Sucks that this card is so bad considering he won’t get another card unless its a finest or POTM, and that depends on real life performance
    29. Yadier Molina- I have nothing against this card necessarily, but he will get an upgrade later on and no one needs a slow catcher with no pop
    30. Buster Posey. Obvious choice here especially since the 99 is free

Have you completed every affinity? I agree with your top 10 besides Blackmon. He has a 96 and can’t run or field

I never used Olson but I'd take Gleyber and Soto as my top 2 every time

I’ve completed all but 5 up to at least stage 3 but have used all the TA 2 cards except for them. Have like 10 stage 3s done. I will probably rank the other ones when the time comes. Only reason Blackmon is so high really is for what he has done for me. I know there is the 95 but not worth the upgrade over the FOTF version IMO.

    Moncada above Olson for me.

Also, I wish they would have gone with Hunter Pence instead of Posey since we knew from day 1 Posey had a 99 on the XP path. Weird.

Pos3y is 30 because of his 99, but Gallo is #9 even though he's got a better PL card?

Bell is too low IMO. I've had way more errors and fielding mistakes using Olson than Bell.

    Nice list though 😃

Gallos PL card is worse. Also Posey would still be in the bottom 5 despite the 99 being available

Blackmon rakes for me, absolutely rakes. He has one of the glitchiest swings in the entire game. As Billy Bean once said "Defense doesn't matter, he can get on base".

My top 5 would probably go

    1. Soto
    2. Olsen
    3. Gleyber
    4. Tatis
    5. Buxton (plays way over his hitting stats)

Out of your top 10 i'm now missing 4. (Soto, Olson, Tatis, Blackmon)

My top 5 so far are

Moncada (Is off to a very fast start with me and has hit everything hard)
    Torres (Nothing needs be said)
Buxton (Speed + sneaky power = amazing)
    Ohtani (Unhittable)
Devers ( Criminally underrated card, he's been very clutch for me)
