Competition Just Better Now?

The last 3 seasons I got to 700 pretty quick and stayed between 750 and 850 rather consistently. Season ended with me below 800 so I started at 550 this season
This season I have yet to crack 700, I woke up this morning at 698, and right now I am at 492! Wtf! Everyone I play is real good now, I guess the ones left are the diehards? Just seems real strange how much I am struggling now.
