This is what made me order a monitor today.
New tv’s have specs very close if not equal to a monitor. No need if you don’t want to.
That’s totally false. Not even the most expensive OLED tv’s can boast 5-10 ms response times.
Actually they can, yet another uninformed statement from you.
14 ms is not fast enough for this game so no you’re wrong and now I’m blocking you.
You can block me, that's fine. It already became clear to me a few days ago that you don't like people who contradict you with facts. That's fine too.
Let me break it down for the people who do care about facts:
There is a difference between response time and input lag. Response time is a marketing gimmick used by manufacturers that resembles how fast a pixel can change color. It is not to be confused with input lag, the phenomenon that actually matters.
You spoke about response time, but I'm sure you meant input lag. Monitors have 1ms response time, not 5-10ms like you said. That's where you made your first mistake.
Secondly, some of the fastest BenQ monitors have a 1 ms response time, but the actual input lag sits at an average of 7-15 ms. You can see that here, where it has been scientifically tested:
https://displaylag.com/benq-rl2755hm-gaming-monitor-review/Since a PS4 Pro plays on 1080p 60HZ, the TV I just mentioned has an input lag that's sits at an average of 13ms (again, scientifically tested) which you find in the review when you scroll down to the Input Lag section.
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/b9-oledThat's identical to the BenQ monitor I just mentioned and that concludes that you were in fact wrong about your statement. Again.
I was planning on getting a gaming monitor but then I saw on reddit that people are using regular computer monitors and just getting the adaptor. I have 4 monitors currently so how do I find out if the ones I have are gonna be an upgrade?
Dude im buying a $5999 apple monitor. Im making a push to world series

Thanks for doing all the leg work and heavy lifting replying to him. You are correct and he is wrong. Not sure how many people I have tried to inform over the last couple of years. Most of the time it falls on deaf ears.

Just switched to a newer tv and the gameplay is so different! Cant make solid contact, and my timing all messed up!
This happened to me also. You get used to it.
