Is moonshot supposed to be fun?

The whole game is a moonshot event this year. While the content has been fine, the gameplay is really depressing, not really representative of the actual game of baseball and does not have any real correlation between success and having better input than your opponent, which makes zero sense in a H2H context.
Having spent pretty much the whole year stuck playing exclusively AS difficulty RS games with a 4.50+ ERA, MLB the Show is over to me. No chance I return next year for more of the same, even if they add Mark McGwire, Randy Johnson or Barry Bonds. I absolutely hate the way this game plays this year, it’s just a series of random (predetermined?) outcomes that are seemingly not dependent on anything you do with the controller during the game. I can’t live with that, I’m afraid. -

Currently the best way to finish a stats grind!
Upvote for a fellow phins fan.

If you hate quick count events then you just might not be good at the game. These events make it easier for the average player to perform well and rack up stats and missions.
-
I love it, no quicker way to rack up Prestige stats. My only regret is I didn’t play more, plus I just finished collections on Thursday so I’m just starting on Mantle, Biggio and Sheffield.
-
It is essentially just grinding stats mindlessly, at least for me. Kinda like in 18 when you played the Rockies on rookie. I'm not complaining, these games don't take much focus and you can prestige your players, but I am having 18 flashbacks.

After I hit a perfect/perfect with HRD Gonzalez at 117 power on a common pitcher with no confidence and all it did was hit the wall and almost got caught I was about done. I take the lead and the bottom of the third 99 Larkin throws a ball near the dirt and diamond fielding Bellinger bobbles it to allow the game to continue I just quit. I’m not catering to that [censored] you can have the win

I had this happen with Dawson and Chipper, back to back. Both died at the track. It was like the wind was blowing in 30 mph or something.

I love the moonshot events. I dont usually play a ton of events, but I've been playing the moonshots. The quick counts always throws me off. I forget to look at the count sometimes. I like the quick counts for the 6-inning events, but would rather standard for 3 innings.
-
It’s fun besides the random bs errors
-
The event itself would be fine, the begging for boosting help is getting so bad I can't play it anymore though.
The online prestige grind is not good for this game.
-
Everything is a bomb lol quick counts make the game go faster with almost everybody grinding prestige stats

Literally the dumbest comment ive read on here all year and that's saying A LOT
"This event is slanted towards bad players to help them so you're bad if you lose to a bad player with an artificial advantage"
uh yeah dudeI just hate that they aren't balanced 1:1 I wouldn't mind it if we both got the same counts but when I go a full inning of 1-2 counts and have a 3 pitch inning bc I have to swing at garbage pitches Id usually lay off and take for strike one its stupid

That's my point, its fun aside from quick counts not being balanced and being on all star which is garbage random outcome hitting and you and I have said this since 2019 lol

Most everything is flying out of the park this event, there isn't pitcher ratings keeping the ball in the park..

Yes, but it wasn’t as blatant as this year. We all know there’s been an increasing amount of RNG in the game since ‘18. It was far from absent in ‘19, but on the whole, SDS did a much better job of hiding the RNG than they did in ‘18 and particularly this year. As a result, the game felt a lot better to play online H2H, after some patches, than its predecessor or sequel.

Ive only played like 7 games and they've all been vs guys playing at cavernous parks where theyre flyouts 420ft to center lol

If you treat it like Whose Line is it Anyways, “The show where everything’s made up, and the points don’t matter!” Then it can be enjoyable!

This event is fun, if you play it for fun, racking up wins getting packs to help with the TA.
