They made Showdown Stage 3 brutal to make you buy the stubs for Stage 3 Players

I just failed my 5th and final Stage 3 Showdown
I returned to the game after a month of absence to see the new Affinity content
Well Stage 3 Showdown makes Stage 1 look like Stage 2
It's beyond brutal
Mini moments are are roll of the dice and mini bosses are insane
This was done on purpose
By making Stage 3 cards sellable that made sure very small number of players can beat the Stage 3 Showdown thus giving incentive to buy stubs to get the players
Exit velos have been nerfed into oblivion with under 100mph exit velos on perfect hits being the norm
Worst part I can't enjoy my favorite mode because it's brutal right now
And there is no way it's on regural Veteran
I just scored 14 runs on Legend in my Franchise don't tell me I can't score 2 runs on Veteran
They just have to do shady stuff
Shame I thought I might come back to the game for Stage 3 but no way I will now.

I’ve tried and beaten the central one once. I found a lot of the missions were simple enough , score 2 runs don’t give up a homer in 2 innings, and there was one that I had twice that was strike out 1 batter and don’t give up a run and literally faced 1 batter in each mission.
And I failed the East once but I skipped ahead to the final showdown and faced Palmer and ended 15-12 but I really could’ve won that one if I didn’t make 2 boneheaded mistakes.
With these ones more than any other patience is really key, you’re facing pitchers who are all 97-99 with 100+ attributes so waiting for the right pitch is really key and while it’s a bit harder because of the level of the pitchers it’s not impossible.

I legitimately think every time I’ve noticed you make a thread, it’s you complaining about showdown. You’ve (& other complainers) consistently got your wish for them to make it simpler, as the game cycle / TA stages have progressed. Please explain .. what more could you want, aside from them essentially handing you the cards?? Ffs .. they even made it so these ones are on the market lol. I barely play anymore & came back to chase after a few of these cards .. even me being rusty & Imo the game being quite trash in it’s current state, each one of those new showdowns are a breeze.
Believe it or not, sometimes it’s a YOU thing. Wild, I know dude.

Stage 3 showdown it the easiest of the 3. You can try out the new cards in showdown stage 3 it’s fun and easy! And the stubs are great!
-
I love that they made the cards sellable because I will never have to touch showdown again except for new programs.
They’ve never even been somewhat difficult for me, I’m just bored of them.

I saw who the user was for the OP and knew this thread would be gold.
He did not disappoint

Idk about that stage 2 still feels like the easiest one . In this one stage 3 you actually got some pretty good diamond pitchers you gotta face . In the central I been doing it and and have completed it a few times . But I did just fail one had to face diamond dibble 99 Casey mize and end boss new Kerry wood , I find myself having to lock in there’s a few extra base hit missions and if you fail too many of the early missions good luck with the end boss . which is why I failed my last run too big of a uphill battle with wood painting them corners with his 100 mph fastball having to score 9 runs lol.

I agree, I think stage 2 was a bit easier.
That being said, I wouldn't really say Stage 3 is hard, it's just somewhere in between stage 1 and stage 2 -
I went into face wood 15-15 and it took me 10 outs. There were several blue moments that had me convinced i was going to fail only to pull it out. I dont think i can pass it without having at least 12 maybe 13 runs. It wont be easy.

Totally agree it’s not the hardest thing it’s not the easiest thing it’s a tweaner lol . Still is doable for me I’m not really looking for hand outs I am Ok with its difficulty. -
It is always easy for some and hard for others. I have a hard time with showdowns, Thankfully that is not the only way to go. It is a waste of time if you lose. if each one take about an hour and I fail 7 of them, I could have done MTO for 52 points (VET) in the same amount of time. Just an example for those who struggle with show down MTO or exchanges is the next best way to do TA

Honestly, I think I’m an average player. After losing the first 3 games (work from home distractions) I went through the SD and was down 15-4 at the start. I wound up losing 15-11, most of my runs were scored with less than 8 outs remaining. I’ll knock it out tonight. You can do it.
-
The definitely needed exit velocity. I just started my first one and have lost several blue missions bc o rearming track shots with bombers and lining out over and over. They must have made hr/9 count and that’s bullshat
-
The mini moments are just tedious. Wish there was a way to skip individual moments.

Well, just finished and lost 15-12 from being down 15-6...... I hit 8 warning track shots with “good” contact even though half should have been perfect perfect. This wasn’t with 50 power guys, this was mcgriff, Giambi, torres, Dawson, and stanton..... wt actually f
