Great post. I’m 49 and can very much relate. My favorites are the Astros al a Nolan Ryan, Biggio, Bagwell, Wagner, etc. Nolan Ryan my absolute favorite. Best wishes with your guys!

I’m a middle aged dad gamer myself, and I love all the guys they just added. My favorite player was Eric’s high school teammate at Crenshaw (Darryl Strawberry), and keep hoping they’ll put him in the game too.
Small sample so far, but I’ve been using ED in center, and he’s been great. I have Mantle, Walker and Reggie in my god squad outfield, so I don’t know if he’ll make that cut, but he seems absolutely usable. As a fan, you should definitely use him! If Strawberry ever comes out, he’ll have a permanent spot in Right for me, regardless of other “better” cards.
Side Note: They did Eric dirty with his player model, and face specifically. He looks like an emaciated northern African more than himself.

For you old times, Ha I'm one myself, you may want to upgrade your monitor. I've been late on fast balls for over a year. I got a much better gaming monitor (though still a tv being a 50' TCL 5 series) and now I'm early on fastballs. It's all about input lag.

Always give a much closer look at the card if I was a fan of his as a kid. Henke made my team for this reason plus he looks good.

Same for me! 42 here and I can't hit hardly for squat. Eric Davis Rookie card was the first baseball card I ever got from a show back in the day! Even as a life long Braves fan, that dude could play!!! I still keep Chipper in most of the time even though I'm average hitting with him, just because...he's f'n Chipper and one of my favs!

The Dodgers came close to that back in the 90's. They had an outfield of Strawberry (broke my heart as a Mets fan, but lived in SoCal, so I got to see him more), Eric Davis and I think Kal Daniels.

Yeah unfortunately ED and Darryl on the Dodgers didn't work out.

Middle aged Reds fan here too. I agree this is the first year that i cant seem to hit with Larkin, but bash with Davis. I am also a 600 RS player, but since switching to SZ2 i should be able to make DS this season.

Awesome too see some good folks here. I did like Strawberry as well but with his off field issues not sure he can make the game sadly. Now with baseball cards....I still have a Dwight Gooden rookie card. Not worth anything but still have it.

Strawberry obviously had his off field issues but why can't he be in the game? They have some PED guys on the show, and other players that had issues. Strawberry turned his life around, beat cancer, and helps recovering addicts now for a living. He should be on it year in year out.

I'm biased but I've ripped with Larkin since the day I got him. Perfect 2 hole hitter and surprisingly hits a lot of bombs for me. Even on Hall of Fame.
