Is Jimmie Foxx worth the 500k
-
Jimmy Foxx 500k
Arenado 20k
Pujos 97k
Miggy 9k
Bellinger 80k
Donaldson 31k
Gehrig 91kIf you have unlimited stubs this isn’t an issue, but I wouldn’t mind your participation. I am curious if Foxx is worth it by comparing his vale relative to the production he has given to users relative to other cards. Can you submit the OPS you have had with Foxx and any of the above cards listed.
Foxx costs 5x as many stubs as any of the other cards. Is he 5x better. Is he even .400 OPS points higher?
This is a serious quasi scientific showing. I don’t care for preconceived opinions and I only want intelligent debat. If you are not capable of that there might be better served in a thread with people who blindly agree with you
Happy Holidays

I personally use Gehrig at 1B and Arenado at 3B. Chippers a switch hitter at 3B so even him over Foxx

Hmmm, so you think Foxx isn’t worth it. You even gave reasons other than mindlessly agreeing with someone’s point. Thank you for that. It’s becoming rare.
Have you ever used Foxx if so what was your OPS with him relative to those other guys?

Have not used Fox but I see no point in wasting stubs for him when I have other guys I like at those positions
-
Wow...sounds like Foxx is worthless to you. Sort of like garbage
-
If you've got the stubs, then why not? Value is perceived. There are cards people love that I hate and cards I love that everyone hates. That's the awesome thing about this game

You are 100% correct if you have the stubs it doesn’t matter. The question as I outlined is if you don’t and your are trying to see if he is worth locking up stubs.
Do you or did you have Foxx? If so what was his OPS relative to some of the dudes I mentioned. If not, why?

He is only expensive because he is hard to get as you have to go 12-0 to get him that means less product is out there

Nope, I don't have Foxx. I run Gehrig at 1B with Pujols on the bench. But I'm not going to say he isn't worth it, because for someone else, he might be. Example: everyone swears by Griffey and I couldn't hit over .200 with him, so I sold him. His value to me was whatever I could get out of him because he didn't perform for me, but that doesn't mean he isn't worth the 100+k someone else paid for him based on their own experience with him. Ruth is worth more to me in my lineup than the +/-400k I could get if I sold him. But many folks feel the opposite.
-
If you have the stubs, I’m sure he’s great. But personally for me, would he be better than Bellingers 1.131 OPS, or Pujols’s 1.117? I don’t think he’d be much higher, if higher at all. Everyone plays differently with different cards, though

He gave one reason. And it's a player who is around the same price. But because he's a switch hitter it is a valid reason? Troll on troll.

Wow even after that other post has been deleted you can't let it go, your obsession has past borderline creepy and is now frightening
In this post you have taken the word of people that have not used Foxx as wins for your argument, you say this is quasi scientific, how can someone who's never used Foxx know if he's worth it or not? Seems like because it matches up with your viewpoint you're willing to accept it as fact even though someone who's never used him can't really say if he's worth it or not.
To answer your question worth is subjective and always in the eye of the beholder, is Foxx worth it for guys like Mitch and myself who have millions of stubs and play at the top level of this game against the best? Of course. Is he worth it for someone like you that may only have 40 thousand stubs and would have to mortgage your entire team to get him? maybe, maybe not. Is he worth it for someone that has maybe 500k in stubs but is comfortable with the level of their team and has nothing to spend stubs on? I would say so.
While I can't give you my exact ops with Foxx because again, not home, it's somewhere in the 1.2-1.3 range.
Now let's talk about those players you mentioned
To start with, you listed a lot of primary 3B's which Foxx is a 1B with a 3B secondary, the 3B's you mentioned have better defense outside of Cabrera because third is obviously a more defense heavy position then first.
but let's look at the players mentioned on a deeper level.
Arenado 20k
Pujos 97k
Miggy 9k
Bellinger 80k
Donaldson 31k
Gehrig 91kI bought Arenado for 75k when he first came out, Pujols I got free from the inning program but I bought the other 2 from that program at 120-130k
Bellinger when he came out I bought for 150k sold another for 150k
Cabrera when he first came out was 30k now is under 10
Donaldson 100+ now 30k
Gehrig at 91k is somewhat close to his value that he had when he came out.I bought Foxx 3 weeks ago for 392k his sell now value now is 540k his buy now is 698k, the last 2 completed sell orders for Foxx are 655k and 699k, players like Foxx, Posada are the few in this game that actually gain value instead of their value tanking with every new card that gets released. That alone from an investment side of the game makes him worth it. To sell right now at the very worst I am making a profit of 100k and at best am making a profit of 236k. Instead of losing 50k on someone like Arenado and Bellinger.
You say "locking in stubs" for Foxx but players like Foxx, Posada, Gagne, you don't have to lock in ever and remain liquid, while gaining stub value. Players like Arenado etc that are available to everybody always lose value.
This all to say nothing of the psychological advantage you have when you are able to roll out:
- Mays
- Ruth
- Foxx
- Chipper

for some reason that changed
3 mays
4 Ruth
5 Foxx
6 Chipperto 1-4, so it's supposed to be 3-6

@skepple15
Sir,
You have stated previous disdain fo me and a desire to mute or get me banned. Why would you come in here and disrupt my legitimate inquiry into a players value?
In your arrogance you think it’s about you. It’s not about you sir. I understand that it must be difficult hearing so many people having a different opinion than yours and backing it up by solid reasoning. So maybe instead of spewing non-sense you can do something new that you haven’t done...add something positive.
If you would like to contribute please show the OPS of the relevant cards. Otherwise, I am sure you can find another thread maybe one of your own creation for you and other like minded peers to spew your non-sense.

No, no, no. I am sure that Mr. Skepple is capable of a reasonable inquiry of intelligence. I am sure he can rise above his small ego to join me in this legitimate inquiry into the value of a certain card
Happy Holidays Your Honor

Look, if you want to ask out Skepple, just do it. The repeated stalking and baiting posts are a bit much. We see the obsession. Just ask.

Not certain what you are attempting here. Based on your post you are against trolling. So it clearly can’t be that, but I am uncertain what you are attempting to add here.. Is it possible you came I to this thread on accident and needed to be shepherd back to a more appropriate thread for you.

So I gave you a legitimate response and you don't even acknowledge it? Interesting
Also, none of the people that agreed with you were able to show you an OPS with Foxx because they haven't used him...
I mean at this point it's pretty clear to see what's going on.
At least you could provide a response to the legitimate points I gave you, oh no you probably won't do that because they're good points that favour my side...
