If every pitcher was available all time, all rated 99, who would be in your starting 5?
Mine is:
Roger Clemens
Vida Blue
Randy Johnson
Roy Halladay
Barry Zito ( totally doesnt stack up with the rest of my list but hes my all time favorite A, great personality and really fun to watch guys flailing at his curve)The whole A's Big Three was fun to watch, I got to watch all of them play for the Canadians (Vancouver) from the minors up to when they won 20 games at one point for the A's. I'll never forget the run they went on in 2002.
Zito was a beast, his 2002 season is one of the best I've ever seen. 23 wins, 2.75 era, 180+ strikeouts
For me it was Roger Clemens in 1986 24-4 2.48 era 248 K's whip 0.96 Boston should have won that WS. He was 23 years old
That was a great year.. not his best though.. that would be 1997 with the Jays.
11.9 bWAR!!
21-6, 2.05 ERA, 292 K (pitching triple crown)
2.25 FIP, 222 ERA+!!!Disgusting...
That was during the steroid ear and at 23 years old his third season was impressive as I was just a kid
Being during the height of the steroid era makes it all the more impressive..
But I hear ya, he was the rocket as a 23 year old. Blowing heaters past dudes...As a Jay he truly became a pitcher, blowing fastballs by guys, while pitch sequencing and dotting splitters.. he also had some help in the training room, if you know what I mean..

No thanks, I'd rather play with living baseball players not this fantasy made up what ifs fantasy fest.

My fav season by my fav pitcher is 1995 Greg Maddux.
1.63 ERA... 260 ERA+, 2.26 FIP
He had a .80 WHIP and walked 1 BB/9
19-2.
All on his way to his 4th straight Cy Young.. and finally a World Series.Hated the Braves, but loved Maddux

Yeah I did not like the Braves but always liked Maddux. Got to see him pitch a lot on WGN Chicago with the Cubs and then on TBS with the Braves

Thank you, i appreciate it. I needed something to read today that wasnt negative or turned into an argument.
I love baseball and miss the day in and day out action. Not having a season is brutal. I hope we have a season soon. I miss talking baseball.
Really missing inside edge to mix up my team day to day too lol

I hear that, I miss watching the dodger games, Sports is usually an outlet from what is going on but we do not even have that during these times.

One of the biggest reasons missing this season sucks is not seeing what this years dodger team could have done. Its just such a loaded roster top to bottom and the pitching is outrageous. Makes me sad. So many really good looking teams this year

The NL central was going to be a real fight between 4 teams. I was really looking forward to it and building a possible rivalry with the Reds. Not to mention I was interested what teams were going to do with the Astros.
