They’re two different card types.
If Glavine got a Cy Young award card based on his 1991 season, it would definitely be boosted higher.
But Hernandez’s 2010 season was basically every bit as good as any season Glavine had. If Hernandez got a Signature Series card instead, it would be lower.
They should have gave Glavine a cy young card then, I feel like sig series, prime, and awards should all be even
Forget Glavine vs Felix, the real crime is giving Jacoby Ellsbury a 96 Prime card.
Giving Kevin Smith a 90 overall card is a bigger crime.
Kinda, but not really. None of those Future Star cards are based on any real stats. They’re all made up.
Ellsbury is supposedly based off some kind of “prime” even though he only had one year worth talking about. Prime cards are supposed to be based off actual stats, but this clearly isn’t the case with Ellsbury.

Revoting the 1998 NL CY, who do you think wins it instead of Glavine? Leiter, Maddux, or Kevin Brown? To me Kevin Brown.
Btw, his sinker would be nasty in this game.

Yep, as a Sox fan I will even admit that

I have a feeling were not done with the Smoltz/Glavine/Maddux cards. If you look under nameplates there's one for all 3 combined that makes me think there's a program still coming this summer possibly making all 3 of them 99s? There's also nameplates for Griffey, Ortiz, Nolan Ryan, and Babe Ruth.

Maddux will for sure get a 99. He's one of the all-time greatest pitchers ever. Top 5 imo
Smoltz could get a 97-98 starting pitcher card for sure...
I don't see Glavine ever getting a 99...
-
If they really wanted to make an accurate representation of Glavine they would have to reprogram the strike zone.

This game has given out unrealistic ratings before just look at Matt Carpenter/Rick Ankiel last year or almost any prospect this year, not saying your wrong just saying it would not surprise me if they all get 99s.

Oh for sure. I just think it would be dumb to give a better card of Glavine while he had a BR reward 95, going for 200k...

I think if you collect all the cards of all three you get the nameplate like in the mantle collect for prestige you get his nameplate. This 100% glavines best card, no way they give another one after this being a BR reward

That makes sense. Very good point.

None of his career /9 stats are amazing. He was just super reliable and won games. That said, given his 95 rating, he has been my best pitcher this year. Great control, pitch speed differentials, and pitch selection.

He won 2 Cy Youngs just like Kluber, but Kluber has a 99 and Glavine has a 95

He sure did.
He sure does.
If you want to go beyond the surface level, take a closer look at the H/9 and K/9 in those years. Also keep in mind that SS cards take more than one year into account.

It would have been a 99, but SDS couldn’t figure out how to give him strike calls a foot and a half out of the zone as a perk.
Definitely a Cleveland fan. Still crying about the 95 WS that Cleveland was thoroughly dominated in!!!! Lol
