Should I make a CAP?
-
I’ve been playing the Show since the beginning. It’s pretty much the only game I play and I usually play it year round. That being said, this is my first year playing DD. I jumped right in and got obsessed with it. I did not make a CAP though like most have. I have Mantle and I’m in the Prestige path. Is it still worth it to make a CAP? Like will it help me with XP or stubs somehow?
Also, I see most people make position players. Typically SS or C. Is it harder to make pitchers? I feel like it would be good to make a nasty reliever since my offense is stacked and they are hard to find.

Make a pitcher if you chose with a funky delivery it’s fun to use

The only problem with making a pitcher is you can't choose what pitches they have but with equipment you can make a guy with beast stats and competent hitting.

It just chooses random pitch types? That sucks

There are different starters and closing pitcher types to choose from. Break, Velocity and control. Each one has a set pitch repertoire.

If you don't have a CAP for each position you're doing it wrong. Plug and play anywhere.

If you want to be known as a super cheese ball that is equivalent to Bunt dancing and holding r2 then go ahead and create a cap pitcher with a ridiculous release.

Tough thing with pitcher is hitting the innings. You’re either a closer, who can get a few innings every game, or a starter, who will have to go some games without playing at all. Position player will rack up 9 innings every game.
I started a CP cap last year, but the inning grind was just too cumbersome (and I feel like the equipment is geared more toward position players). I love having a cap.

First year playing DD and you have Mantle? Not bad

Well like I said I’m nowhere new to the game. Been playing religiously for years. Also I put some money in the first week to get a head start and have been fortunate enough to pull of the 90+ diamonds:
Trout- 1
Sherzer- 2
Bellinger- 2
Arenado- 2
Verlander- 1I only had to buy DeGrom and Cole out of the high diamonds and a handful of the 85-89’s.

I do, it's fun. Play one RS game and a conquest game daily, the innings will be done in no time. I recommend the USA map, at least you get something for repeating it; go slow, use it for "practice". You also get used to batting offline and online, two completely different experiences.

My CAP catcher is not only my best player, but perhaps the best catcher in the game skills wise. XP reward Posey comes closest. Even the new 98 Torre cannot compete with him. Plus he is a switch hitter.

Yeah, don’t be that guy. Bush league move IMO

I made a reliever but gave it sales motion Bc I didn’t want it to be too cheesy but just a little

So everyone can have a switch hitting beast with a glitchy swing but I can’t have someone out of the pen that does the same. You gotta look at it from both sides of the story. And you get the same chance to get a hit as a hitter as you do getting a hit off a cap reliver

Either way, it's a video game, aka something to have fun with.
