Specific baserunning glitch that should be fixed
-
So baserunning has plenty of issues but going to be specific to the situation I just encountered in hopes that maybe it will be patched. I was in a sweaty battle back and forth down 8-7 in the 8th. I got Lofton on first to start the inning as a pinch runner, I stole second with him. In great position. The next at bat goes to a full count after like 10 pitches. His catcher has 99 arm so I’m being conservative as he’s expecting the steal. He gets me on a changeup low but it bounces, so he has to throw to first. As soon as ball is in dirt I hit L1 for Lofton to go, he then does the dive back to second animation, I’m like [censored], so I hit r1 to make him stay in the bag as he lost his opportunity. He then takes 3 steps off second, stumbles and then heads back and by then is dead to rights.
If I hit advance he should not be diving back, I understand he’s programmed to dive back in case of a throw but in a strikeout like that there is no chance the catcher back throws to pick him.
Also if I hit R1 to stay on bag over and over before he advances that command should override the advance from before, as he dove back, and should have an awareness of the play. I don’t want to give away free crucial outs.
That play killed me and made it two outs nobody on instead of one our fastest man in the game on third.
I ended up loosing by one run.
This is a fundamentals mis-program, plain and simple and should be an easy fix.... no?

Anyone else have this happen, I know it’s a very specific situation

It’s happens to me where I press advance to have him go and then spam r1 cuz I changed my mind and want him to stay but he does the three steps stumble thing and then it’s automatic out
