Take the scripting out of the game.

Just lost on a walk-off homerun with a PCI rating of 4. They might as well just let you join the game and randomly draw a winner. It would save a lot of heartache. I feel like I'm just watching a game of baseball hoping that I will win.

“I feel like I'm just watching a game of baseball” — SDS probably thinks this is positive feedback

I've never really believed in scripting much, but this game seems different. If you hit a single and then swing at the first pitch next at bat it's like 90% certain it's a double play no matter what. If your fielder makes a stupid error, especially on one that should end the inning, you know the next hitter is going deep.

I can feel when the game is about to pull some bull****. The game is coded to adjust everything to boost either player randomly. Little things like final pitch location, BABIP, home runs, called strikes on the edge of the plate, bloop hits. It's so inconsistent and makes no sense. If I lose let me lose, don't boost me. Same the other way around. I fully believe I outplayed my opponent that game and lost due to scripting.

It's just going to get worse next year with all of the new console players coming in. Gotta keep em engaged.

I have had scripting work for and against me.
I was in the final showdown boss, I was down 2 runs and 1 man on.
I was also down to my last out. I hit a routine grounder to 3rd, I think this showdown is over, but no the 1B drops the ball.
And no, I did not have the Rattled perk equiped. My next hitter hits an HR to win it for me.Then last night I play a quick conquest game to get a daily mission done. I am up 2-0 to start the third.
I get 2 quick outs and then all of the sudden I cant locate a pitch and walk a hitter. The CPU hits a liner to RF and he drops it.
Next hitter Boom, 3 run shot game over.Scripting exists, it exists in all sports games. Is it a limitation in the programing? A mechanism to keep us playing?
I don't know, but we can tell when we jump on the "scripped rollercoaster", I have learned to not get too frustrated about it and roll with the punches.
Sometimes we are the hammer and sometimes we are the nail. -

Sometimes we are the hammer and sometimes we are the nail.I think most peoples issue on here would be the scripting when playing head to head online. And yes it will go for and against there as well. I think we all just want a game that rewards the user completely on their input and nothing else comes into play. No floating pitches, no random errors by diamond / gold fielders . No more no-hitting opponents for 4 innings then all of a sudden they hit EVERYTHING.
It's just getting really old and is a reason I've played about 3 RS games in the last 2-3 weeks.

The scripting is in the game's code. It will effect all types of play.
I get it, getting jobbed in a RS game is worse than losing a BS conquest game.
But the point is that effects every facet of gameplay. They need to fix the game. Sadly that will not happen this year.
Will it happen next year? Probably not. Since we are getting cross platform play I do not expect a new next gen game engine. Cross platform and a new engine is probably too much for SDS to handle at the same time.
But MLB 2022 should have a new engine and by then hopefully we will see less of this. -
As I look at my hilariously bad ranked season record, I can't help but wonder: if this game is truly scripted, why does the script writer hate me so much? Lol
