I was just wondering why not sweeping the NLCS is minus 4 momentum but winning the series the next day is only plus 2. Not sweeping a team is like a speed bump, it slows you down for a minute but then you can get right back up to speed.

I have done a lot of MTO and I don’t the momentum in the playoffs just doesn’t make sense. It also doesn’t seem to play a role at all in what the score will be in the next game.

So, I guess what I’m trying to say is you’re right. But, it doesn’t really matter anyway.

Sometimes the game just wants you to lose in MTO. I won the first game of the ALCS only to be down by 4-0 in the very next game. Lined out a lot and lost. The third game was awesome though. I was up 3-1 and hit like crazy. Won the game 25-2. Very enjoyable.

I started the game out down 1, so I don't think momentum matters either in the playoffs. The CPU seemed determined to take borderline pitches and foul balls off until I hung a pitch.
