SDS loves them some Shortstops

Out of the 6 position players we have gotten in the POTM programs so far 4 have been SS. Why?
Both programs you earn a SS early in the POTM program that is obsolete by the time you finish the program. Why?

I will still do the programs but I just can't see the logic in it.

I got double trolled. First we get a Astro SS as the potm
and then in one of the standard packs you get along the way, I pulled Altuve

The Astros are strong with this program.
