Ok so I realize that so long as I use buttons instead of buttons accuracy with a meter, that I am susceptible to unforced throwing errors.

That said, I still think the amount of unforced errors on routine plays is way overblown.

How often are you guys using button accuracy giving up unforced throwing errors?

I can’t help feeling that whenever this happens, it is because I am facing an opponent with a poorer online record and the game is trying to create a scoring opportunity.

You’ll have Zero unforced errors if you hit the green meter unless you have players OOP

I second this. You can also make perfect throws to home plate from the outfield, and perfect throws on steal attempts, new this year. There’s an extra little window in the button meter. It’s how the catcher throws the ball right where the fielder can catch and tag at the same time.

Ok what about secondary positions like a second baseman playing at short or vice versa?

If you hit green with anyone, you'll never make a throwing error... Ever.
Accuracy determines the amount of green you get with a player. If he's secondary, just go to sub him but don't actually go through with it. The screen that pops up to compare him with another guy will show his updated ratings at a secondary or OOP spot.

I'm with you, OP. Unfortunately, every time I try button accuracy, it goes horribly bad and I throw the ball all over the yard. I just can't seem to time that window up (probably because I'm so used to the other way). I would love to switch to button accuracy but I am just bad at it. Any tips are appreciated. Yes, I've even tried practicing it at times and I just get frustrated with it and switch back.

Same thing provided you hit the green. Now the amount of green may be reduced slightly for a players in secondary but there’s still a good amount there.

The speed at which the meter goes is the same for every player. You get used to it and not even have to look at it.

I can probably hit it with my eyes closed

Button accuracy is the way to go. It's really easy to get used to, and my throwing errors are extremely few and far between.

I’m just practicing against the cpu in conquest games, grinding daily innings. I made two errors in my first two attempts, then threw wildly missing the cutoff guy, but finally made ONE IF assist.

Hopefully this will remedy the wonky outfield throws that look like lollipops and never are online to the catcher.
