The Robin Roberts slide step

Do you guys think there is a way of making slidestep an option without the constant balking?
I’ve noticed in the event that whenever I get a guy on base with Robin Roberts on the mound, the machine gun delivery begins.
It may be because I just pinch ran for Ruiz who has 27 speed, and my opponent assumes I am trying to steal, but there has to be a way to improve this.
I’m fine with my opponent slide stepping or doing what he has to do to hold runners, but this is not even close to being within the rules of baseball, the way the animation works right now.
Any ideas?

Anyone slide stepping in this event is crazy. The runner scores on the inevitable home run no matter what base they’re on.

I have almost given up on the event. It is basically just batting practice unless you have Vida Blue, who's card double in value as soon as the event begin.

It’s great for prestige stats with Chipper Vic and Roberts
