Actually pitchers pitch In the strike zone except when they need to, watch any game good pitchers throw in the strike zone except in strike out situations or to get a fly ball, ground ball dp. I can lay off a lot of pitches just seeing why that’s peoples strategy tho
-
They probably pitch outside the strike zone 50 percent of the time in those given situations not 80-90
-
Lance McCullers throwing 24 straight knuckle curveballs. Maybe 6 or 7 of them were actually in the zone.
Judge actually goes down on three straight that aren't even in the zone.
-
These posts are hilarious. If players pitch 80-90% balls, you should win everytime, period. Take your walks and stop complaining

Wrong.
In real life a hitter won't swing at pitches outside of the zone that often, because they are major league hitters... but if they show they can't lay off a particular pitch outside the zone, they'll never get a pitch in the zone. It's literally the whole idea of pitching man.Find weaknesses and exploit them. I'll throw 5 sliders in a row if I find you can't hit them.
A major league pitcher will too. It's what pitching is.
If you haven't noticed this watching IRL, next time pay attention. It's literally the point of pitching -
@Hikes83 obviously you didn’t read where I said not crying or complaining scrub just seeing if that’s peoples strategy
-
Greg Maddux -12 strike outs complete game 85 pitches, that’s a true dominate pitcher

Of course it isn’t! But people won’t throw meatballs either. Most of the people aim for the frame and you either hit or miss. It’s not rocket science
-
These games be going for an hour + long when realistically they should be 30 mins 40
Tops that’s what I’m talking bout -
I’m not trying to pile on with the “just don’t swing” takes, but honestly, nothing will make you more successful at this game than learning to lay off bad pitches (not even balls - even pitches on the black that usually lead to outs, which is worse than a strike). Good players understand that developing that discipline is hard, and most players don’t have it, so of course they will use it to their advantage.
I’m by no means elite, but Showdowns actually helped me a ton with this, because the only way to succeed is lay off pitches until you get one to drive.
I know it’s frustrating, but you can’t really fault the pitchers for exploiting a hitter’s lack of plate discipline.

Pitcher control is easy for me , so that’s not a real excuse especially if people been playing this game for years now
Eh not true. I know I'll use diamond pitchers with good control where I'll throw a fastball on the inside corner, hit the meter perfect and the ball leaks towards the middle. The pitching in this game leaves a lot to be desired.
-
If i notice my opponent has 0 zone awareness I am going to throw 0 strikes until they show me they can not swing. pretty simple

This is true. Provided you approach each moment and boss battle correctly and try to beat it with the right mindset, your discipline will improve in leaps and bounds. You’ll only learn if you want to, if you try and rush through the missions you’ll fail and get no improvement.

Pitching in this game is a mess.

I kinda feel like so many people don't actually know what real baseball is by their posts.
If a pitcher could only throw balls and get the batter to swing at it the majority of the time, they would do so in RL.
You have to prove you can consistently lay off pitches, no one is going to walk you 3 times in a row etc, they will throw it in the zone if you make them.
It's not my job to throw you a hittable pitch, it's your job to force me to throw one.

No doubt the solution is don’t swing at all the pitches , I have a good eye especially playing baseball for so many years but it’s frustrating to see thsts people strategy, when in real life no pitcher does that
Umm a pitcher would do that every pitch if a hitter had that type of approach.. and if you have a good eye then move along and take the walk. They ain’t sexy but can win you the game. That’s all that matters. And the more you take when someone plays like that your bound to get a fat one soon
-
To be good you gotta throw dots. Simple
-
How long have you been playing the game ? This game takes time to be good at and get a good eye. Even if you ask the best players at this game very few had a good first year at the game. But fixing it is up to you and the amount of time you want to practice and get better. Every decent player at this game is going to exploit you at the plate if they find out you can’t hit a certain pitch, or can’t lay off bad pitches.

I have alot of trouble with same handed pitching and will swing at junk. The number 1 thing that works for me is a pick a spot and sit on that high fastball. If its not a high fastball I dont swing until he has two strikes on me. If you get walked you should be able to steal any base if they are throwing alot of off speed junk balls
