Big collection this year
-
They had Honus last year I’m wondering if they will do the same thing or something similar this year. That’d be pretty cool
-
I can tell you I haven’t bought Trout or Cole for this very reason. If they announce Honus I’m definitely not completing the collection. I hit so bad with his card last year. I know it was the opposite for most people but man was I disappointed in that investment
-
There will definitely be a collection reward for legends/flashbacks
-
Mantle is worth it. Dude hits .534 on my squad. Just rakes from both sides.
-
I'm thinking babe or Mays..
It would be nice if there was multiple rewards for flashback/legend collections -
I doubt Mays because he was a collection reward last year.

Sure, but he's one of the few good enough to warrant a near maxed out card for a collection that big

I agree. A five tool player that is deserving of great hitting, speed, and fielding. I could also see Griffey or Vladimir Guerrero.

Griffey definitely.

I’d like to see it be Babe so I can just pass.
-
I’d like to think they’d save this for a new Legend that has yet to be announced.
-
Hank Aaron perhaps? Or do they save him for next year?
-
I think it’s almost a guarantee there will be. It will likely be a new legend that hasn’t been announced also.
-
There's no way they have a big legend and they are going to wait until August or September to announce it. They would be advertising him all year.
It'll be a 99 of a card that already exists in the game.
-
Did they anounce Honus Wagner bwfore he came out last year?

I don’t think that’s necessarily true, I believe Wagner was announced June, maybe July last year. Musial was a mid season drop in 18. It may be an existing Legend, but if you want to get people amped up, you get a card no one has used before.
Also, if baseball does actually begin this year, I can see them start to do a summer re market again like they would if it were March. -

No, they started dropping hints about a Pirates legend prior to announcement, but nothing pre season.

So that leaves the window open for a new legend correct?

Honus was a card hidden in the game that someone found the card art for while going through the offline rosters.
Since SDS has been telling us outright that their focus for this year is players from the 1990's and 2000's, I wouldn't be surprised if we see 40-40 Alfonso Soriano. He was a talented enough player that people of varying play styles would get excited for, but he wouldn't have been a big enough draw (such A-Rod, Randy Johnson, Pedro, Jeter, etc.) to sell units on his own merit.
Personally, I think the biggest surprise Legend would be a return of Ichiro. The game just feels incomplete without him.

Alfonso Soriano? Granted he would be good in this game because he's just power and speed, but he's garbage at everything else and no legend
