Showdown sucks. It is too difficult to hit period. There are way more players saying this than not. Expect the elitist to chime in with garbage comments.
For the average to below average player it is a monumental task that excludes us from completing the Team Affinity and some of the inning rewards. They need to find a happy medium for all players. Here you go crying again. Dude there are plenty of other ways to complete the TA’s and inning rewards without ever having to touch showdown. Exchanges, stat missions, hell you get a star for every couple thousand xp so no matter what mode you play you’re earning stars. No ones wants a game mode that caters to the below average player.
Sorry to break it to you...
But without the average to below average player you won't have a game to play.
The elite players are for the most part NMS since they can rip off a few 12-0 BR runs, sell off the rewards and get Mantle.
It's the average players that are buying stubs and ripping packs trying to keep up and improve.
If you think I am wrong all you have to do is look at EA's financial statement - 75% of thier revenue is from "live services" ie micro transactions.
So, before you cr@p all over the average player remember they are the ones that bankroll this game.I understand thats who makes a majority of a games base but I’m just talking about a single game mode not the whole game it’s self. SDS has provided plenty other modes for players of all skill levels to complete TAs and inning missions.
I would hate for them to change this particular mode purely based of people’s complaints on here that it’s too hard when it’s mostly the same people everyday making these complaints.
Plenty of other modes to complete TA's? Look at the time required.
Other than showdown the only way to get TA's done is to mindlessly grind innings. It is 2,500 innings for 50 pts (31 full 9 inning games all player/pitchers from one team) Even at 30 minutes each game that is 15 hrs minimum.
MTO - Since they are average let's assume they run it on veteran that's what 10 hrs to get through the playoffs? for 42 pts. Not enough for a TA stage.
Finally we go back to bankrolling the game. Using stubs to do exchanges.A showdown run takes about 1 hr if you play it through all the way. 3 showdown runs gets you 60 pts.
His frustration is not that he cannot beat showdown, He makes it abunantly clear he can't. It is the Time sink required to make up for his failings at the game.
A Very good/ Elite player needs 3 hrs to complete a TA stage, but the average/below average player needs 4 to 5 times the amount of gameplay to achieve the same thing?
Something seems off there -

Something seems off thereYes something is very off. This is the result of the participation trophy. Just because he tried really hard and gave it his best he feels like he’s entitled to something now. Skill and hard word should be rewarded not just participation.
And going off your math there, if a good player can complete Showdown in 3-4 hours but only get 20 points and MTO can be done in 8 hours and get 42 isn’t that about the same? So no matter what your skill level you can obtain these TA cards at the same rate as the elites. He just wants it his way and wants it now! Tired of cry babies that’s all.

No way a MTO run takes 10 hours.
An average player will complete a showdown in 1.5 to 1.75 hours. An average player can complete a MTO in 5 hours on veteran. minimum 4.5 hours to get 60 points. An elite player can get that done in probably about an hour. MOT would net them 40-50 points in 5 hours. Seems perfectly balanced for stub cost/zero reward risk for fail versus taking a bit more time to get the points.

I was rounding up but that’s probably more accurate. So see people, you can have all the TA cards, just stop wasting your time in showdown if it’s too hard. The amount of time they spend on here bitchin could be used to finish multiple MTOs lol
-
Showdown is an easy mode.
If you spend any amount of time on it and win most of the moments in between bosses instead of skipping to the end down by a ton, it’s impossible to lose.
I would consider myself average, and I’ve failed maybe one or two showdowns so far this year.
Team affinity this year is like everything else in the game. You can get the cards the fastest by paying for them, you can get them fast and free by playing showdown as long as you’re at least a little competent, or you can get them slowly no matter skill level by playing MTO. That’s a fair setup imo.
-
Out of curiosity, what level do most players (that cannot complete showdown) play against the CPU? I suppose if players are mostly playing on rookie, it might be too difficult.
-
I play all offline. I grind for stats playing Conquest on Veteran, but I still win most of the time on All Star. For me the Divisional Showdowns for Stage 1 were tough (probably 40 % success rate) but the League Showdowns are much easier. I've played a ton, did 5 MTOs (I'd say 5 hours to complete on Vet)and have 11 FOTF cards. I would call myself a decent offline player that has never played online for comparison sake.
-
Mostly I will play the CPU on HOF, as it creates the most realistic game situations for me. I dont win every game, and my scoring can range anywhere from 0-15 runs.
I found some of the showdowns challenging and I dont feel as any are overtly unfair. Stage 1 are much harder than stage 2, where I have completed 4/5 AL runs I attempted. I am an average at best player, and certainly below average online.

And here you go cryin about me crying... lol why is it you feel the need to reply? Challenge me anytime on DD and I’ll show you I’m not a below average player... showdowns suck... as the MAJORITY of players/post state in here. For this, you are out numbered
As I scroll up I’m seeing a lot of people say how easy it is lol. If you spent half as much time practicing as you do complaining you might have a chance at beating a showdown. The only showdowns you seem to have any success with are in these forums
And sure we can play some day. I just looked up your stats. 49-50 batting .171 sounds below average to me but what do I know.
Where’s my pitching stats bro?

Listen bro, I’m not looking for participation trophies. Just want a chance. I waste hours and hours trying to fail. I’m glad you’re getting a kick out of this but I paid for my game too and deserve an experience I can participate up to. Go troll someone else’s post and quit your holier than thou attitude.
There are plenty of players that have the same complaint, it should be a BIT more balanced if this many of us are having issues completing. -

I gave you and others multiple ways of accomplishing the TA and inning programs without having to play showdown but you have to have it this one way when the game has put in place multiple ways for you to get what you want.
Don’t tell me it’s unfair or unbalanced when you can play MTO on rookie and get more points as 1 showdown. But that’s too easy and boring right? Well that’s what showdown will become for everyone if you get your way, too easy and boring.
