Did we get a hardware Kris Bryant in past versions of the show? Would you like to see a Hardware Kris Bryant?

We used to get a gold Rookie/Hardware version but I imagine it would be pretty redundant now.

I was thinking for his 2016 MVP, forgot about that Rookie card.

Been waiting on 2016 HW Bryant for forever.
Now would be the perfect time to release it, seeing as how they started him as a gold (somehow) and it won’t be possible for him to go diamond if the season doesn’t happen.

See, I too thought it was weird Bryant wasn't a diamond to begin the year but if you look at his numbers from the last few years, I'd say SDS nailed it with his ratings. Especially considering they weigh the last three years with the most recent being more leaned heavily towards.

Id say that slashline deserves to be diamond. Career 900 OPS hitter. Javy is not better than Kris Bryant and he is a diamond.

If we are going off career might as well make pujols and Cabrera 95s

Javy runs lap round him in the field and runs better overall so that def helped his rating.

Bruh KB has been in the league 5 years. Hasnt even hit his prime. They say they use 3-5 year averages. KB should be a diamond.

He's an 84... Get over it.
-
Ya, KB being a 84 is fair. Last year he was very good but not elite (135 wRC+) but took another step back defensively. Ended with a 4.8 fWAR..
In 2018 he was not that great at all. Pretty just above average actually.. (126 wRC+, subpar fielding and baserunning, for a 2.3 fWAR).
That helped probably bring him down to a gold. He needed a big year in his age 28 season. If it happens now..

Once again, I'm saying SDS uses a rating system for Live Series cards that weighs the last three years over the career numbers. So, his career numbers only mean so much to the actual overall. His last two seasons haven't been "elite" by any stretch of the imagination.

Exactly!
I think if he had a big year to start 2020, he'd easily become a diamond. Obviously, SDS didn't account for the season not being played to this point.

Kris Bryant isn’t the cover boy. That’s the difference.

2018 he was hurt for most of the season. That’s not fair to use that in your argument.
-
Had there been a real MLB season, I am sure KB would have gotten bumped to a diamond after a couple of roster updates. Unfortunately, Live Series cards are locked in to their launch ratings since there is no season.
-
Traditionally, MLB hitters peak at age 27. He was hurt in 2019. It sucks, but it happens. At 28 he is still in his prime, but the window is closing.
No one can be "only 23 years old" forever.

KB has better hitting stats though. On both vs R and vs L and Vision. Baez has a very slightly higher overall because of fielding and base running. Sorry, quoted wrong person.

Baez is a diamond because of his Fielding and running. His hitting stats are buns compared to bryant.
