1440p is the sweet spot for monitors. Sony has already said if demand is there they’ll patch in 1440p and demand is definitely there. Technology is pretty early for monitors and games to run at 4K 120fps. Many games right now are still 60 fps. 1440p at 120 fps is much easier on everything right now.

It will probably be a couple years for game companies and monitor/tv companies to catch up to what the PS5 is capable of. A $1k monitor today will probably be around $400 in 18-24 months.

Might be but ps5 doesn’t support 1440 and PS4 pro is the only PS4 supporting that resolution I run a 1080 p 27 inch monitor cause I know it will work fine with my ps5 even though 1080 for 27 in screen isn’t recommend

I would recommend reading up on the monitors that currently “trick” the PS5 into 1440p. Sony has already said they can patch in the 1440p option as they just want to sell TVs right now is why it’s not on there already but eventually will be.
