Servers and connection are the issue...
-
I just played 8 straight RS games. 7 were perfect. I thought maybe they fixed the connection issue. I won several and lost a few. All were fair, pitch speed were fine. Timing windows worked like they were supposed to. The 8th game I’m the home team and match up With someone and it’s swinging underwater. Late on every fastball. Couldn’t time anything. This game blows based on what your connection is in relation to whoever you’re playing. I play with a wired connection. I can only imagine the type of connection my opponent had...I typically never play this many games in a row and this was obvious. SDs just tell us if quality of peer to peer connections create a lag and effect your timing window...

Yup, this is what I think as well. I have games where everything is ok and others that are straight trash. Sadly more the later. I also run hardwired.

They will never be forthcoming unfortunately...

Yep, I realized that issue a couple of years ago after playing someone out the country, and how bad the gameplay was. It was like a different game.

I live in England and I can definitely vouch for this being a thing. That said, I don’t expect SDS to admit it, address it or even acknowledge it for multiple reasons, not least of which is they can’t do much about it. They might be able to try and ensure things sync up better, but ultimately the only way to really fix it would be to have dedicated gameplay servers. “DO THAT THEN!!!” Everyone will say. But it’s not even vaguely realistic. The amount they cost to set up, maintain and trade off in performance means it’s just not cost effective or practical. Even the behemoths of the sports game world like Madden and FIFA rely on P2P connections with good reason.
What do you want SDS to say, “We are well aware our game plays like [censored] online, but we can’t fix that in a cost effective manner.”? Can you imagine the responses on here, lol? People would just complain more. If you stop and think about it, the whole thing is pretty obvious. -
Does it occur when one person has a good connection and the other a bad connection? Do both people in a particular game experience it or just the one with the faster connection? I am hardwired to my router as well. Would I not notice it as much if I connected wirelessly?

They could widen the timing window back to what it was. It wouldn't fix the problem, but it would make it less noticeable.

Nope, although I’m not a technician and have no professional knowledge on the subject beyond personal experience, you could be sitting in LA with top notch wired internet that’s working fine and I could be at home in England with the same, yet we’d have issues with high ping purely due to our geographic location. There’s literally nothing we can do about it. Obviously if one party has terrible internet, the game will play even worse as a result.
