May i ask what 76-79 silver card exchanges do?
Doing the exchange rival cards, need 50k in value to get 10 points towards TA. Its repeatable. a 79 silver is worth 4775 value. So 11 of those gives you the 50k you need for 10 points. Roughly 6 to 6.5 k in stubs if you do orders and pick and choose. The 76 overalls give you 2404 value, (half of 79) you'd need twice as man cards as 79, but if you can get them at half price it comes out the same.
You might get a better deal in stubs in the long run on lower overall cards, but you have to buy so much more. General opinion is it takes around 30-40k per team to get to 50 TA points doing exchanges. Some might have found a better method, but i havent come across that yet.

I suck at showdown, have yet to win any of the more than 20 I have played, so I mainly play offline bs cpu or conquest, and do rival exchanges

I grind innings when I can. I only play 1-2 RS games per day and hardly work the events at all. I am on my 4th round of the US conquest map. 3 innings X 20 teams X 9 players = 810 innings. As stated above, once you get to 70 points, it is very easy to do the stage 2 showdown.
So you just play offline games with said team over and over again and gain points from the innings?
Well, only with teams not reflected in my main squad lineup. At the end of every 3 inning game you get a reward card...the odds of a valuable card increase if you play at All-Star or higher. This helps with trade-ins. When you conquer every square on the map you get a 10 pack bundle. This is also helpful for trade ins. Along the way you knock out the stat missions...Stage 1 stat missions can be done offline.
Also, when I want to play an online game, I'll make sure to first play a conquest game on All-Star or HOF as a warm-up instead of taking BP in practice mode which is something people talked about doing a lot in years past.

Unfortunately I know absolutely NOTHING about conquest and how it works.....might be time to figure that one out cause it seems there are some decent rewards along the way.

Yeah, conquest is worthwhile. I recommend setting up a second lineup. Lineup one is my H2H squad. Lineup 2 is my grind squad. Also, you can mix and match from teams on the grind squad since the innings will accumulate anyway. Currently I have 3 Reds, 2 Cubs, 2 Mariners, and 2 Cardinals on my grind squad.
Also, the CPU will match your rotation order, so I place diamond OVR starters in my rotation and have 2 gold Reds starters and 2 Reds relievers in the pen. I am currently working the pitch 40 innings with Reds stat mission, so when I select a Reds starter the CPU picks either the opposing team's 4th or 5th starter instead of the ace.
There are a lot of videos on youtube about basic conquest strategies. In general, you will want to take out the Rockies 1st and move on the Mariners 2nd. Then you work your way down the West coast teams so no one can be attacking you from the left as you sweep your way East. 'Steal Fans' games suck, but after 3-4 of them (Against the Rox and M's) you shouldn't have to do any more unless yo want to...they are after all just extra innings for the grinding. Leave at least 3 fans in each stronghold which is near a border with another team...you can move them out later as the buffer for each area gets larger.

I do bronzes 68-73 and it's around 18-20K per 50 TA pts. It takes longer, but you can put tons of buy orders in and they usually get filled overnight. Way cheaper.

Gotta just grind showdown. I have 28 of the affinities to 100% and I havent done any inning grinding. It’s also helped me get to prestige 40
-
Just grind showdowns. You get 2 packs after winning (they add up) and get your stubs back, not to mention a ton of XP. I’ve been trying to complete collections and the affinity packs and stubs I’ve gotten from completing affinities has been key.

Good to know, do you have a set price you don't go over? For example I like to keep my 79's at 600 or lower if i can help it and my 76's at 300 or lower. Around 450 for 77-78's

Is this the most cost-effective/time-using method?

Interesting, how many each of the bronzes do you need?
I've grown tired of MTO and these Stage 1 showdowns are still giving me trouble (while I don't have as much trouble on any of the other ones). I hate just throwing away stubs (which is basically what you're doing in an exchange) but maybe that's the route I have to take. I just hate it being a NMS guy and working on collections at the same time.
-
Not sure about anyone else, but I'm looking at an awful lot of 18 percents under all the team affinities. I have the Twins at 100 and really close on Rockies and Padres. (The three teams I've done MTO for).

It kind of depends on the team/division. But as a general rule of thumb, I try to stay at around 80 per 1000 points. That keeps you at 4K stubs. Sometimes you can get better deals on 69s or 71s, I just do the math and see which path will get me to under 4k per 50,000 pts. It's entirely possible to get silvers that allow me to be under the 80/1000, but those deals are few and far between.

I love the FS cards , I have 5 of them and they all RAKE . Can be worth it to make your team better or if you just want to have them
-
I’ve been doing Stage 2 showdowns exclusively for teams I’ve progressed that far and exchanges/collections for teams still in Stage 1
