I mentioned this in another thread, but I think it bears reiterating.

I think, and this simply my opinion, that the rewards for MTO are simply not inviting enough for the majority that want to grind out team affinities via this method. Especially with the time involved.

Yes, I do realise some play the mode for fun, but it has been attached to the affinity programs, so most did or have done it for that.

I'd be interested in seeing the numbers when double points were being handed out. It would be my assumption that participation in that mode increased significantly during that period.

I'm not asking for something for nothing, simply a little more in the way points that accurately reflect the time and effort that goes into that particular mode.

I'm sure I'll get ripped and that is fine. It's simply my humble opinion.

I seem to be in the minority, but 52 points for an optimal Veteran MTO run is pretty good IMHO.

That's fair on face value. The problem for me is the time invested. Let me put it to you this way. MTO takes roughly 5+ hours to complete. Showdown lasts 30 - 45 minutes, 5 - 10 if you are good enough to simply skip to the final boss.

That means that in the same time you spend on MTO for 52 points, the truly skilled have tacked on anywhere from 100 to god knows what in the same time.

One of the other reasons an increase would be beneficial would be the replay value for those grinding. I've done it once, not when double points was available, and I simply refuse to put that time in for the rewards as they are atm.

I see time as a currency and I value mine highly. I see no replay value as it stands, particularly since it has been tied to team affinities.

I have no doubt you'll disagree with me, and that is fine. Like I said, it was simply my opinion.

Not to mention most people can't grind a MTO run in a day. So for some you're talking about 3-7 days just to complete 1 mto run.

Btw, it's 42 points on veteran. Definitely not a high replay value.

Oh, I didn't pay attention to what I got in the past; but looking at the possible pay outs, isn't it:
11 per half of regular season (22 points), 5 points for the Div Series, 10 points for the League Champ Series and 15 points for the World Series = 52 points?

Wait a mo, I reckon I've double and triple dipped in the post season. It's 15 points in total for a WS series win; not the earlier points. Ok. I'm a fool.

Ok, yeah 42 points is a tiny bit low. 50 seems right.

edit 2: wait, that doesn't add up to 42 either. Ok, I'm done doing maths for today.

It gives you the total when you scroll through the difficulties. Maybe you were thinking All star. It is 52 points.

Like I said in an earlier post on this subject, there should be an option to "mercy rule" the CPU after a 5 run lead.

It would give an incentive to try to up the score instead of getting a 1 or 2 run lead and then bunting to finish off your at-bats ASAP.

Its just too long of a grind for the points it gives you.

Double points was fantastic as it made the mode worth the play.

There needs to be a happy medium between duration of a total run and points awarded. A "mercy rule" I think would cut about 1.5 hours from an MtO run, and shorten the DS, CS and WS time. Would being it on par with Showdown time I think.

I don’t know why it says 42 for veteran. Add them up and it’s 52. Maybe they are putting the 42 on their as an average if you’re not good enough to get the max points

42 is the expected (average), not the max.
