Showdown = MLB The Show Gold Glove Edition
-
Diving catches everywhere, first and third baseman spearing 107 mph line drives and sometimes when the infield is in, even had the first baseman dive and catch a 108 mph line drive with the infield in.
In every mode this game has the defense tracks down to many balls but showdown is where they really save the insanity for its highest peak.
Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I want to break the controller, all in a days work I suppose. -
I find Showdown incredibly grueling for almost no payoff. Sure, there's rewards, but I spent about 1.5 hours doing each one, and my rewards are just profits over the stubs I paid to do the thing in the first place, if I even break even at all. I'd rather play MTO or just do some moments and exchanges to get good players to be honest. If it didn't cost stubs, I'd be more inclined to live with the insane difficulty.
Why not have a tiered Showdown? I can enter for free to get the Gold Glove edition, but if I want to part with 500 or 1000 stubs for Silver or Bronze editions, I'm in! Or, I pay 500 stubs per mini boss so I can skip them and get a couple of runs each into the final Showdown?

Yeah there’s a lot more they can do but it’s just some of the ridiculous things that happen that really make it a controller breaker. Had one the other night in the initial showdown where I had 2nd and 3rd tied at 2 with 3 outs left, rocket to third that he spears with cat like reflexes and then the diving stab at first on a 108mph shot and then a diving catch in center on a bloop that was falling........just had to laugh it off.
