Starting Build for Personality

Is there any reason NOT to make your initial build:
Lightning 3, Captain 2, Heart 1?I was kicking this around the other day, and I reasoned that that specific build gets you into boosted perks the fastest. Lightning Rod is independent of your relationships, so if you have the T1 perk set, you're golden.
By the time that maxes out, you'll have enough Games With, for enough players, to start qualifying for Captain boosters; by the time THAT tops out, you should have enough Bros to start going after Heart.
Opening with Maverick makes no sense, because that depends so heavily on team rivalry. And that is constantly getting reset, as you move up the ranks. So, if you leave that for last, then by the time you've maxed out the other three, you'd have enough Team Rivalry around MLB that Maverick perks would start to get boosted.
Now, for dedicated role players, starting out with, say, Maverick 3, Lightning 2, Captain 1, would make you a bratty teenager that would eventually mellow into an elder statesman.
And so on.
But for just "game," would L3C2H1 be considered an "optimal" starting build?
Discuss.

I would say you need Maverick to be your second option. Have the guaranteed pitch inside is far to valuable to give up. Really helps me on legend. I'm batting over .400 on balls in play from the first pitch. I'm hitting .294 overall on Legend. So that should tell you how bad I need that option.

Lightning 3, Captain 2, Heart 1?Ooooohhhh... I like Heart 1, Captain 2, Lighting 3. This is the way I've started most characters. For "Heart", I like "Defibrillator" (improved contact when you're ahead in the count), "Heart Attack"(improved contact when losing, and since I play on bad teams, very helpful) and "Ice Water Veins" - (Increased plate vision with on strike or more). Then, when you get to level 3 on Captain, that makes "Soul Link" available, which basically means a first pitch strike down the middle with runners on 2nd.
I just set up a new player with Lightning 1, Captain 2 and Heart 3, and I'm really struggling. I've never focused on the Maverick perks since they rely heavily on "Rivalry".
Just my 2 cents. Nice topic, TheRedCloak.

.294 on Legend is good - nothing to sneeze at. I'm playing on Legend, but I rely heavily on "Heart" due to the reasons I mention above. I'm at .350 in my 3rd MLB year on "Small Ball".

I'm doing much better in my 3rd year. Think I figured it out. I use directional hitting. I'm terrible with PCI. I've been at .350 for the month of April and I'm hitting for power.

I've switched back and forth, but focus on using the PCI. I rarely move it, though. Only if I have an advantage in the count and I'm looking for a specific pitch in a specific spot. Once you get your vision and contact high enough, you can cover most of the plate without having to move the PCI much.
