Showdown Slumpin’

I’m sure it’s just me but I am slumping hard with part 2 of Showdown. Idk if it’s due to being on veteran or what but I can’t get away from goofy contact results and amazing fielding. I am one of those guys that will just skip ahead and start out 0-15 and usually have pretty good success and that’s on all-star. In part 2 I have an overall better team and it’s on veteran and I’m terrible. I beat the first try pretty easy and since then I’m 0-6. Typically the pitchers are around 100 pitches and I score an average of 13 runs I’d say but man o man just can’t get over that hump anymore. Thanks for letting me vent.
P.S. Not sure if it’s the pinstripes or what but SDS must think Clarke Schmidt is going to be the best pitcher in the history of the game. I’ve never seen a cpu pitcher consistently hit the strike zone frame so well. If it’s a ball it’s still touching the frame and same with strikes. When he does make a mistake your good/squared is no match for his ability to have the ball die at the track.

I think veteran is just difficult because we're used to playing on all-star and HoF, Its technically 'easier' but its difficult because its different.

I think what makes these stage 2 hard is that freaking sinker. Just hard to time and square up. I struggle so bad against that Singer guy from KC. Hate him with a passion

The AL is more difficult than the NL for sure

Yeah that guy gave me fits for my first couple outs

I wont even try stage 2 while I am still so far behind on stage 1.
Just beat AL west after 4 straight fails.
It went.
Eliminated by
Hendriks
Hendriks
Ohtani
HendriksSo the 5th time I skipped Ohtani, went into Verlander down 7-15, I won with 4 outs left.
I honestly think the difference maker that last go round was Gold Ckear for Take off perk. I drilled Greinke in my fist blue mission, and hit a grand slam with LaStella vs Verlander. That extra exit velo is extremely helpful, as long as I can get the PCI on the ball
Success at these things comes down to being consistently good. I am not, do most of the time I feel like i win them because i got lucky. A lucky blooper here or error there, or dribbler just under the fielder's glove. It really stings when I hit perfect perfect line outs. Or the really nasty line drive right to 1B where it is caught and he tags out the runner for an unassisted double play, I swear that happens way more than it should.

I've beat singer twice but I struggle with Schmidt from the yankees. Singer's windup is funky, I hit him better when he's pitching out of the stretch.

You have to set yourself up with your perks. I skip to the bosses down 15-0 and if I can get the contact or exit velo boost on 0-0, 1-1, 2-2, the first two times in my lineup, I’ll take until I get to two strikes then hopefully get a 2-2 count. After that, I’ll wait til I get at least 1-1. If one of my batters is ahead 2-0, no way am I swinging. I’d rather try and be 2-2 and have my perk activated

I tried that same run up pitch count and was 0-4, (having 7or9each time), latest run ball coming off bat great from 1st mission, faced Medina at 15-9, took a look for a pitch to hit approach, had him at 45 pitches bases loaded tie game and single past drawn in with 11 outs left. don't know if it was cause ball was off the bat better the whole run or if the slightly more agressive approach did it.

If u get the 7th pitch perk, then u can skip to the showdown and if you are patient enough I get a guranteed hit/HR just about every other AB. Love that perk.

If you need a pick me up just play the al central stage 1 showdown. I went into final showdown last night 13-15 and won in 8 pitches! Haha the whole thing is super easy and the central has really goo hitters compared to the pitchers!!
-
I just completed one in 16 minutes skipping right to final :^)

Yep lost to him last night. First time not winning a stage 2 showdown. Went in 8-15 and lost 14-15. I think next time I’ll just have my PCI set up low since he seemed to throw lots of low sinkers.
