The bosses are not always the same. In the NL I had Plesac, Smoltz, and Zack Brown as the final.

What other bosses have people had?

I had FS Adonis Medina as the final boss on my first run.

I think it would be a good idea to catalog what pitcher each team has as a final boss, so people can draft accordingly.

As long as it's a righty since I'm sitting on all righty except for diamond Posey right now with 1 mini boss and 3 missions left.

Either they nerfed showdowns cuz people complained they couldn't beat them.. orr they nerfed them cuz we complained about Future Stars as TA2 and wanted us to actually get them done... hmmmmm

Or, they nerfed them because the data showed the success rate was awful.

    Ah, a voice of reason!

I am sure they have tons of data on the first batch of showdowns (at least I hope).

    • How many people started
    • How Many people completed
    • How far the average user advanced
    • How many attempts people made
    • How many people started it, failed and never went back to try again

They are not basing decisions on complaints alone. Especially around here because people complain about everything.

What gets lost on the forum sometimes too is that the forum does not necessarily accurately represent the masses. The forum usually seems split 50/50 when it comes to this kind of thing but it’s impossible for us to know what percentage the forum actually represents. No doubt SDS’s data looks much different from the conclusions you’d draw from analyzing the forum only.

As an example, according to the PSN trophies, only 50.10% of users have received the Show Them Who’s Boss trophy for completing a final showdown (which includes even the starter showdown). I think that’s a lot lower then if you’d ran a poll on the forum speculating how many people had successfully completed showdowns.

I think that probably means there’s been a $&!+ tonne of failures and they’ve adjusted the showdowns based on that more than the opinions posted on the forum.

    https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/10498-mlb-the-show-20

Im guessing the failure rate was in fact pretty high, but PSN trophy completion percentages aren’t a very good indicator either because It also includes strictly Franchise and RTTS players in those numbers. Im guessing at least 80% of DD players beat the starter showdown. The other ones are much harder than the starter showdown but I would Imagine most DD players beat the starter showdown at the very least

Reds is always FS Lodolo, a lefty.

I've only done 1 AL run through and had that Astros FS pitcher as the final boss. The guy throws nothing but change ups and sliders so it's easy to just sit on the hangers.

I forgot the first two NL bosses I faced but the final boss was Brusdar Graterol. He beat me with his 99 mph fastball, 95 mph plus sinker and his 100 h/9 rating. I could not make good contact against him.

The only downside to it is I don’t want to play the first ones anymore and I still need to do 25 teams haha.

Also if you play a really tough boss it can be difficult because they don’t walk you like all star

I don't understand this? AS is more difficult than Veteran so shouldn't the everything from the CPU be easier (eg: worse pitches)?

They throw more pitches in the zone, on all star they try to trick you more with pitches just off the plate. If your strategy is to take pitches until they are out of stamina veteran could be more difficult.

Yep it is. Faced him today and won down 10-15. Pretty easy I thought, he doesn't throw over 95.

Seems like on Veteran the CPU pitchers throw more fastballs over the plate. Just wait till you get a good pitch to hit over the middle and get any variation of Inner Peace perks.

Yea and this is by no means a complaint just an observations. This one way easier to beat. But There’s some guys that it’s just hard to get good wood on. Mainly the 102 mph guys, Kopech, Pearson. Only one I have failed so far I faced 99 Kluber as second boss and could not square him up. Would have been easier on all star imo.

Yes. Stage 2 is locked until you finish stage 1.
