One thing i noted right away, most of the hitting ones you start with a guy on base. I will agree they are generally easier and faster. I'm working through NL right now. One of the 2nd tier ones for example was to score 3 runs in 3 innings...but they start you with bases loaded in the 1st. I hit a single and then a HR and was done...easy peasy. But even without the HR I could have manufactured at least 2. The toughest was the 1st one so far, scoring I think 2 runs off Sixto Sanchez. There was a moment against the Brewers where you needed 3 hits AND 3 strikeouts, so one side of the ball wasn't a complete waste of time.
Also worth noting, you get 2 diamonds right off the bat instead of 1...which is generally nice. I went Yelich and Rollins
Not for me, only was given the diamond Yelich

Started the final boss down 15-2, got it to 15-11 with 10 outs left, had the KC pitcher up to 140 pitches when all of the sudden he starts dotting everything. Lost 15-14 with 2 men on.
God this is God [censored] frustrating.
Think I'll just grind out innings from now on.

Ok, so here's the thing, if you read earlier in the thread you would see that I did, I lost them all.

That actually makes final boss harder. On the old ones the CPU was all over the place and I would draw walks. On you hardly get walked. I have horrid PCI placement, so I can only hit pitches down the middle. So I bet I will still struggle with this

People who play against the CPU are not that good and they deserve something that rewards them for their skill level

I am sure they have tons of data on the first batch of showdowns (at least I hope).
- How many people started
- How Many people completed
- How far the average user advanced
- How many attempts people made
- How many people started it, failed and never went back to try again
They are not basing decisions on complaints alone. Especially around here because people complain about everything.

I am sure they have tones of data on the first batch of showdowns (at least I hope).
- How many people started
- How Many people completed
- How far the average user advanced
- How many attempts people made
- How many people started it failed and never went back to try again
They are not basing decisions on complaints alone. Especially around here because people complain about everything.

@Saberq269 heres the thing.. RS is in such a bad place right now, why not knock this side stuff out now if it’s eventually gonna be knocked out anyway? I’ve been playing a lot of CPU grinds just to get it over with, doing US conquest map one time through for innings. I’d rather be playing real players but I’ll pass till the game gets patched over and Im hopeful that’s soon

I think the solution would be to allow us to choose the difficulty of the bosses. Just scale the rewards for Veteran, All-Star, HOF.

My fault by the way. Started swinging at bad pitches. Still frustrating that these guys find their control at 120 pitches though.

What gets lost on the forum sometimes too is that the forum does not necessarily accurately represent the masses. The forum usually seems split 50/50 when it comes to this kind of thing but it’s impossible for us to know what percentage the forum actually represents. No doubt SDS’s data looks much different from the conclusions you’d draw from analyzing the forum only.
As an example, according to the PSN trophies, only 50.10% of users have received the Show Them Who’s Boss trophy for completing a final showdown (which includes even the starter showdown). I think that’s a lot lower then if you’d ran a poll on the forum speculating how many people had successfully completed showdowns.
I think that probably means there’s been a $&!+ tonne of failures and they’ve adjusted the showdowns based on that more than the opinions posted on the forum.
