Take Check swings out

If it's in the game, it's in the game.

Except for the DH, 26 man rosters, a realistic sinker, balks, Niekro and Bonds...but yeah lol

That's the problem with online players, they want to reinvent baseball to make it super noob friendly, I don't know why 90 percent of online players just go play RBI baseball....go enjoy football scores and easy controls and collect all the silly cards you want and play All Star games all day, cause that's really what you're doing...your entire team are all stars gold or diamond or platinum players or whatever metal chemical element you want to describe your players.
What are you event talking about? This makes zero sense

Nah...check swings are fine

the plate discipline stat doesnt do anything its ridiculous

Check swings are a problem. Its mainly due to people wanting fastball and getting offspeed. I do it all the time and I know there are some pro check swingers out there lol.
-
Had a guy check swing 23 times, only went around 3. I think check swings are fine but it should be closer to 50/50 that it's a strike
-
Why are check swings a problem? When has not swinging at a pitch ever been a problem in baseball? If you throw a strike it will still be a strike whether or not the batter swings.

Because we are getting bail out on pitches that we are committed to swing but a flaw in the game helps you out.

100% in favor of this. If you swing, you swing. Check swing strike % is ridiculously low, any opponent sitting fastball only can somehow check swing their way through any offspeed pitches and it's annoying. I tire of "Very Early" check swings.

It’s happened to me as well. I understand your frustration. But check swinging is a huge part of an AB.
Also curious because I have no idea. But sometimes it seems like there’s button sensitivity. Are check swings based strictly on the hitter discipline or does it have anything to do with button pressure?
It’s based on a few things. Button sensitivity is one, discipline rating is another, type of swing is what matters most I feel. For me power swings almost always will get called as a swing, normal swings will be about 50/50 while contact will give me the best chance at a successful check swing.
Not so sure about button sensitivity, as the buttons are digital. Swings should be an L2 or R2 input, or a touchpad swipe, or thumbsticks if sensitivity is to be a factor.
I’ve had high discipline players swing through on the lightest of contact with the contact swing button and the same player check swing on a mash of the normal swing button. Drives me bonkers.

I come at this from the other angle, I'm tired of seeing the meatball in the middle of the plate when i'm hitting get missed by me because I cannot keep my fat fingers on the button for the required .05ms longer over and over. I want to punch myself in the face every time this happens. haha

Well a lot if that stuff is absolutely in the game lol. Just not in online h2h play. And that is by design. And if you need more explanation on why then maybe that mode isnt for you. So then you can go play in modes that have balks available, 26 man rosters, dh, and such.

Anything else that exists IRL that you would like removed from the game?

Since 18 there have been wayyy too many check swings that have led to scrubs taking walks after each "too early" swing being called a ball, or getting cheap "very early" hits when you're forced to pitch in the zone. It's a ridiculous lose-lose situation when facing pro check swingers who can't time off speed to save their lives.
This is a result of those same players frustratingly swinging too early at curves in the dirt and rightfully being penalized with strikes, but sds had to coddle them to prevent them from quitting the show altogether.

67 check swings out of 139 pitches for my opponent get it out of h2h

They need to get rid of check swings. It is way OP. And a lot of scrubs abuse it.

I can feel your frustration when you're pitching, and you're confident that your opponent has swung through the pitch, but the check swing animation saves him, because even if he held down the swing button, it would automatically check swing instead for him.
What's funny, is that when I'm batting, my experience has been quite the opposite.
Majority of times I check swing, it'll check swing pass the plate for a strike despite how good my attributes are. Or even worse, it'll fully swing through a pitch that is way outside of the zone, when I've clearly tapped for a check swing.
Regardless of which side you're on related to this issue, a possible solution would be to integrate button accuracy with hitting. The concept would be comparable to when a basketball player 'pump fakes' or actually takes the shot; or when a hockey player fakes a shot vs. winding up and taking the shot. Same idea for hitting.
SDS could add this as hitting feature under 'user settings,' that way it would at least give the user an option to use this, 'button accuracy' feature, or if you like the way check swinging is in its current state, you would have the option to not use this feature and just keep things the way they are. But at least, this would give the user an option to have actual control by 'tapping' to check swing, or 'hold' down swing button to swing through a pitch, and not have the game choose for us randomly.
