My Must-Haves To Purchase MLB The Show 26

I agree with you on the expansion. It would be nice to add teams instead of replacing teams. I don't agree with the salary cap because teams have the option to spend as much money as they want on players. It's their decision to not sign players and spend money. I also agree with moving the bullpens wherever we want in stadium creator.

Well, respectfully, if you really need all this to happen in 4 months, then another one bites the dust. -

Year to year saves. I skipped MLBTS 24 because I didn't want to throw away my franchise. Progression is broken. Doesn't match what the scouts project for draft picks. If they fix that I might buy 26 without Y2Y but unfortunately I'll probably skip 26 unless they bring back y2y.
Not mad at the developers. Just reality.

My staement about a salary cap/floor is not as a mandatory setting in the game, but as an option as we have now with budget or not budget, and add cap/floor as a third option. Eesentially we would have
1 - play with budget
2 - play without a budget
3 - play with cap/floor -
just give me sounds of the show back. And free agency like it it was in the show 19 and 20, off field bullpens and state/national flags would be nice

3 - play with cap/floorthe cap/floor is something that is badly needed in MLB and when the current agreement expired on Dec 1, 2026 we may see some big changes. Yours is a great idea but MLB needs to enact it not just the Show. If it means a lockout then so be it. It could develop into a fight between small and mid market teams vs big market teams.
The current system is so lopsided it isn't sustainable.

Not really. The Dodgers are just a very smart organization. The Mets, Padres, Yankees and others have access to and spend that kind of money and they are not good consistently like the Dodgers. The video linked breaks down why the Dodgers are so successful

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZT47VCMN88sFriedman is good but look at that lineup and rotation and it's mostly due to money. Dodgers payroll is $188 million above median MLB payroll. Subtract $188 million for that roster and show me the lineup and rotation.
Among the big money teams the are smarter than others but put a serious payroll cap in effect and they are suddenly not nearly as smart.

SDS will be required to implement any salary cap or floor should those concepts become part of actual MLB player negotiations. I think they will after we lose the entire 2027 season as the players will try to fight a cap/floor to the death. The owners are going to demand it before agreeing to resume MLB play.

Year to year saves.
I loved the idea of year to year saves for RTTS and Franchise. They actually, in my mind, were a reason to buy the new version of the game knowing that you would not lose your progress.
That said, I can also understand how year to year saves could potentially handcuff developers wanting to make more sweeping changes to those modes by having to make sure it would work with older save files.
