Mini seasons in August

It’s because the CPU pitching is an absolute joke this year. The programming is to make them nibble on and just off the edges non stop. Common and bronze pitchers shouldn’t be able to do that repeatedly and yet they do in this game just to make it more challenging?
This is made worse ten fold in moments that require an XBH when they refuse to give you a hittable pitch, throw 4 straight balls, or just outright plunk the hitter.

No argument here at all and very happy to see someone other then myself say something about the CPU pitching.
Ball after ball after ball only for the CPU pitcher to miraculously find the corners in a 3-0 count and just paint. Just played the 98 Cats in Mini Seasons and they used Kluber and did just this, you can imagine the frustration. I mean at least he's a diamond unlike say for example Corbin Martin.
It's so bad this year that I'm seriously considering not coming back next year.

Also, and just something i've recently noticed and it may just be me but i've been getting a lot of good swing foul balls recently but when the CPU makes the same contact 90% of the time it's a home run or loud hit.

Not even gonna ready the whole thread , all I gotta say about mini seasons is I’m not doing anymore of them at all lol they crazy if they think imma sit and play the 28 games just for 2 cards , and they could’ve been the best cards in the game don’t get me wrong , I still wouldn’t grind that lol I got lucky this year and pulled Ohtani and Judge twice this year so I have a good stacked squad where I don’t need that cards also another factor. I think one more card and I’ll have O day but that’s about it I’m not grinding lol currently saving up money to buy those dam spotlight cards for Griffey …. Sucks I can’t play with one of my favorite players I always look forward to playing with without spending that much Stubbs.

@elMexicano281_PSN You don’t have to play 28 games to win a full mini season.

@GoozeFn_PSN I seen someone on Twitter mention play a certain amount of games and then bunt the rest of the season … is that what you referring to ? If so then I’ll give it a a try I guess and go look up some tutorial on YouTube how to do it . Funny I never even finished those seasons , I got that summer one and moon shot with like 5 games left but I’m just not tryna grind anymore lol

You only need to play 15-18 games depending on how the standings shake out (I play 18 to be safe, that should guarantee top-two seed) then you can enter into & immediately quit out of the last 10 games before starting the postseason. I believe there's an XP qualifer at 23 wins.... so 17 regular seasons plus 6 postseason wins would net you that.
-
See that’s something I can do slowly but surely , hell yeah thanks for that info !
-
@elMexicano281_PSN play as many home games as you can because it’s faster without playing the bottom of the 3rd. Win 16 regular season games. Quit out of the rest. Again, quit away games if you can. Then, 6 more playoff games is 22 total. It’s possible to do less, but 16 is safe to get you into the playoffs. Once you have a couple runs, whatever you’re comfortable with, you could bunt out of games to make them quicker.

I love mini seasons, but cards should be sellable, so those who do not enjoy mini seasons can have access to the cards, and those who do enjoy mini seasons, can continue to make stubs on it.
One of the gripes this year has been that mini season rewards for repeat runs have been greatly reduced. Making these cards sellable would have filled that void.

@Ditka06_MLBTS yeah, I totally get this argument. Playing cpu does completely throw off your online play. Playing online nonstop lets you get primed to handle- the lag and latency, the jank, the cheese, and the meta pitching style that everyone uses.
Its kinda sad, though, if that means you can never play any offline mode. Cause all those online things above kinda suck. A better solution might be fixing lag and having CPUs that actually play like humans....but we don't have that, so I get where you're coming from

The online style of pitching isnt real baseball and frankly isnt very fun to hit against (of course IMO). However, I see no reason to not code Legend like this
They have absolutely changed the lower difficulties to include more things like up in in sinkers. Its not that frequent, but its there so they are capable of this. It just doesnt really belong on rookie/veteran.

I started a mini season today. Putting my Cardinals theme team to the test.
Quit after the game. Playing on veteran I only got two hits the first game but one was a HR so I won. I lost the second game in extra innings when I was forced to bring in a bad reliever and Gil Hodges an opposite field blooper just inside the line.
Meanwhile, at the plate, I just experienced more of what I had been experience all year while facing the better pitchers on these teams. If I get decent velocity then the launch angle is high. If I get a decent launch angle the exit velocity is reduced and the ball is ran down by the fielders (or hit right at them).
Maybe I was just having an off day.
You will get a surprise when you play the Korea team.
Also, i don't know if it was intentional but love that the Tokyo theme team is the Giants
