@BronxYank_MLBTS They wouldn’t be on Microsoft and Nintendo if MLB didn’t threaten to take away the license so unless that happened, which it won’t, then don’t count on it. Outside the Park makes PC games.

This doesnt happen because sds is owned by sony, who makes consoles, not pcs. I dont really see how your system could stop PC cheaters, downloading mods and turning the cheating device on and off would be too easy. Also, PCs would make the game essentially pay to win, as whoever has the better setup (better frame rate) has a huge advantage, as this game is dependent on maximum refresh rate.

You make a couple of probing points.

First, you assert that PC's would be different and by that difference give users various degrees of advantage or disadvantage. Well, I would argue that many of the current complaints about the quality of online play is due to the great disparity in the baud rate and bandwidth of server connections that customers use to play MLB The Show online. So, while your point is true, the use of gaming consoles does not eliminate this disparity, though it does minimize it by at least ensuring the consoles operate more or less equally well, though I suspect there are some difference between how the latest Playstation consoles perform relative to the latest XBox units.

Second, I think you really do hit a prime point when you speak of Sony owning the Playstation line of consoles. They initially didn't want MLB The Show available for XBox consoles, due to the XBox of course being a Microsoft product.

However, beyond all that, the biggest reason so many video game companies celebrated the rise of gaming consoles was because it vastly simplified alpha and beta testing. In fact, it mostly eliminated the need for beta testing since alpha testing could be exhaustively effective given how the game needed internal testing on only a couple of consoles.

I think your point about the main complaint of people online is the connection, and that is true right now. However, there is one console that has the show on it that is not equal in terms of frame rate. I used to be a switch player, and it is an enormous difference from switch to xbox. The difference between console and high end pc would not be as impactful as about 30-120 fps, but would still be huge. Wile connection is the biggest complaint now, I think this would quickly take over. Also, I feel like the cheating aspect of PCs is overlooked. PCs make it incredibly to cheat at this game.

Seriously it’s time for a discussion about this.

If you are a baseball fan and own a pc, well you’re out of luck! Because this is the only major sport that doesn’t have a pc option. Every league has a realistic option there’s Madden, NBA, FC, PGA, CRICKET, Formula 1, NASCAR, BUT Americas past time (MLB) does not produce a PC game.

It’s no secret games run best on computer. There would be no 120 fps cap, refresh rates would matter, the file size could be larger and the game could be better. If you were a competitive player than there could be a level playing field.

If you’re worried about cheaters, then maybe let’s change the lobby system on pc. When your searching for a game show the opponents name on a list before the game. It could make it so you play more series, most of the top players know the people there facing against anyway. If they know there not cheating then anyone would play 9 innings against them. You can leave the console search in, and I’d still play on pc. I genuinely wanna see people give cheating a try in this game. A system of community reporting in the game would work, but you really can’t build a little software that recognizes when a player is cheating based of there timings/stats.

My point is that at this point it’s crazy not to have this game on steam or even if the games own launcher came out I would buy this game.

NHL is not on PC either

Yes, 2K and Ea were both PC options, the modding community is still putting out EA updates.

@Doppelganger39_PSN EA for sure, I owned them all from Triple Play to MVP, and 2K as well, even though they sucked of course. This is like the only sports game ever not on PC. Popular of course
