Signature Series cards - Pool of Potential Players (Hall of Famers)
-
Here is a list of all actual MLB Hall of Famers who are in the game and their current best card. There are lots of possibilities for signature series cards for the upcoming program and enough of them that SDS could do a pretty hefty drop on Friday.
Obviously not those that already have 99s already but there are a lot of players on this list still deserving of better cards.

I am not enthusiastic for this program, if there wasnt a deluxe I would be, but we just got new threads they won't replace it this quickly, so the program will be the same 3-5 players

There is a miniseason though, so that will be 3-4 cards
They could do something like the draft pack too, which is unlikely.
Programs should always be expected to be terrible though, anything more than 2 cards is SDS feeling super generous. Like how they used milestone series for a two card program. Or OF assist. More cards is almost universally better. A 10 card program with 2 god squad cards is far better than a 2 card program with 2 god squad cards, and honestly 10 cards should be the minimum unless its something like the Ryno, Sosa, or Kershaw programs.

With two months left and finest, playoff and World Series releases/programs upcoming they really need to start giving deserving guys cards. We have less than 8 weeks until the playoffs start.
I'll only speak for the Cardinals but you can probably do this exercise with every team...
We have a 91 Lou Brock whose card has awful base stealing stats.
We have 2 time Cy young winner Bob Gibson with a 90 overall card
13 time Gold Glove winner Ozzie Smith's best card as a 89 overall with only 87 fielding
3 time MVP and 7 Time Batting champ Stan Musial only has an 88 OVR cardBeyond the Hall of famers - Matt Holliday has an 85 Oakland card. I was hoping for a good Cardinals version this year because we did not get one last year. Paul Goldschmidt has never gotten an MVP card for his MVP year (to be fair, they are really stingy with MVP cards for current players - not just Goldschmidt)
There are so many options for so many teams and the time is ticking away until the World Series will be over, the content slows down and many players take a hiatus until the next edition.

@Dolenz_PSN
This is embarrassing -
The Mets have two Hall of Fame catchers that are legends in game.
One of those legends has only a single lvl 80 gold card for a different team.
The Mets theme team catcher is a day 1 gold card.
Its not rocket science here SDS....

@Teak2112_MLBTS
Don't forget that Piazza didn't even get a card over 90 overall last year. Yup, the greatest hitting catcher of all-time got so much as a 90 last year. Yup, SDS you mentally restarted fools -

I just looked there and are 234 players, including 2 catchers and 8 1B, in the game with a better steal rating than Lou Brock.

At least we got a Josh Naylor card with 99 Steal ability and 30 speed...Gotta find a way to make a garbage card 97 overall...

That actually seems accurate.
According to Baseball Savant's Statcast page Josh Naylor ranks 519th out of 533 players in sprint speed. That translates into bad speed score. He is objectively slow. But he has stolen 11 bases and been caught 0 times which, I guess, translates into 99 Steal and 99 BR AGG. Granted that does not help him actually steal bases in the game.
He's a gold player who got a high diamond simply because he got traded so I would consider it lucky that he has a 98 card at all. They bumped his live card stats:
Con R 28 points
Con L 48 points
POW R 21 points
Pow L 25 Points
Vis 13 points
Disc 24 points
Clt 24 Points
Spd 9 points
Stl 71 points
BR Agg 69 pointsAccording to my app Seattle has the best theme team Lineup in the game. Shoot according to my Theme Team Squad builder he is a bench bat with 99 Edgar Martinez at 1st, 99 Eugenio Suárez at 3B and 98 Kyle Seager as the DH

@Dolenz_PSN So Greg Maddux should have 99 Steal as well. LOL
-
I am 3-3 with stolen bases with Naylor. i wont run him against a human or a CPU with pop time though.
The 99 steal does help him steal bases actually, you will need to lead with him and a 99 steal makes him unlikely to be picked off.
The Naylor card is exactly what SDS should be doing with cards like this. Not every card needs to be god squad. I hate complaints like this as they are detrimental to the game if SDS listens to them, just like all the 'this guy already has a card!' complaints. Complaints like this are why we get 2 card programs.

I actually stole a base with him in a CQ game. It was hilarious - he got a HUGE jump.
