Stadium Creator Question
-
How come I can play sometimes in my custom stadiums with the red strike though the playable online icon on play vs CPU and then not be able to play in another stadium I create? Anybody got any tips on how to play in custom stadiums that have the strike through on play vs cpu? FYI all my stadiums I make have normal dimensions. LF/RF is normally 330-335 and CF anywhere between 400-405. Also yes I’m making custom walls.

Can’t use adjusted outfield wall stadiums that vary from pre-sets in DD, regardless if head-to-head, or vs. CPU.
You may use them in offline modes, including Franchise.
If they are sometimes “working” for you in DD, then there is a bug in the game letting you do so.

One of the biggest flaws in the current system IMHO. I get having the restriction for ranked, but for games vs CPU it shouldn't matter, even within DD

Agree, Sarge.
If you’re playing the computer, within common sense reason, it shouldn’t matter at all what we do with the walls.

I know some people think I have an affinity for keeping modified stadiums out of DD play, but that's only because I was trying to offer the easiest possible options to SDS to upgrade SC. Since SDS has ignored about everything, it serves no purpose to try to meet them halfway since they aren't willing to budge!
In truth, it would be really easy to change the basic code structure to how Stadium Creator operates and to have the code that flags stadiums ineligible for online play be based upon reasonable standards of stadium configuration. It's ridiculous that stadiums that SDS create can be used perfectly fine in online play, but custom stadiums with the same configurations cannot.
Sarge offered SDS the pathway. Code the outer portion of each wall panel (outfield, baseline, backstop) like a guillotine that slices off any prop that actually touches that wall panel's outer location (meaning the half facing the stands). By that code option, there would be zero need for any prohibition on props being in the field of play since it would be impossible to put a prop in the actual field of play! The code is already there to replicate -- the code that slices off props when they are sunk into the "ground."
Then, adopt minimum and maximum distance standards to the outfield walls to remain eligible for online play.
And if SDS really wanted to get smart about this, they would code the wall panels so that none can be placed in fair territory. I mean, it would be the easiest thing in the world simply to code all wall panels from one dugout end to home to the other dugout end as being unmovable while allowing those baseline panels outboard the dugouts to be moved, but like with the current distance limits to the outfield walls, the code doesn't allow them to be placed in fair territory -- for obvious reasons.
We know the wall panels already support being moved without it impacting quality of play (unless some [censored] deliberately puts them in fair territory). So, the only change to the code would be to apply distance restrictions.
None of this would be hard to do, but none of this will be done. SDS would rather pay to clamp down flexibility in SC than spend money to make the paying customers happy.
