    Once more I have found myself not playing for a couple of days.

    Once again, the last thing I played was Diamond Quest. This time its a bug where I am stuck inside the map with no way of receiving my Ludwick as the final stadium wont register

    I dont enjoy the mode. I hate the RNG, I hate how a disconnect can ruin everything you have done, I hate that its a mode that gives you feel bad moments outside of your control like a rolling a 1 or a detrimental ? square on the very last square of the board before the final stadium. None of that is the issue, I am not the target audience for the mode.

    I am, however, the target audience for the cards in the modes.

    I can simply buy the cards, yes. But this is competing with all the other cards you have to buy.

    Why cant I repeat mini seasons for sellable cards like DQ (which i can then sell cards from the mode I enjoy to buy the cards fromt he mode I don't)? Why arent conquest repeatables or MS repeatables on par with DQ? And to make matters worse, we have one repeatable conquest with the same 3 teams, while there are quite a few different DQs.

    You could say the rewards have been unbalanced for a while, as MS was more profitable than conquest in the past. That doesnt mean they had to make it even worse

    @Teak2112_MLBTS

    DQ was catered to the elite players as soon as they made the only way to guarantee the rewards was to play on GOAT difficulty.

    As you mentioned the mode and game in general have a target audience and it’s not the casual, average player, with obligations that take them away from their console.

    The game is now for the elite players, the whales, the hardcore grinders, teens/young adults or retirees, that can put in multiple hours per day and even more on weekends. It stinks but just have to accept it for what it is.

    I don’t buy the whales/grinders/no lifers. I can literally complete a single stadium run in under 20 minutes. I’m non of the aforementioned folks.

    It’s an easy answer: cards are repeatable because they come with odds. The other game modes are not.

    You do not have to be a whale or hardcore or elite in this game; I’m smack dab in the middle of the bell curve and other than LS, I’m following along quite well. I have a couple of MS to do, because I don’t enjoy them.

    And the mini season finale card takes 5+ hours.

    A veteran run of a DQ map takes a little over an hour for ~50% chance per stadium
    So lets say 4 DQ runs is a similar length to one mini season
    One average you would get 4 of the top tier cards during that time

    So its not an easy answer, its an insulting to the players answer and not remotely justifiable.

    It is my least favorite addition in years. It's fine I guess if you are a good player and consistently win at higher difficulties but when I beat over half the challenges only to make it to the stadium and see that the odds on my preferred difficulty was only 46% then I just give up. Even if I had succeeded at all of them the odds might have made it to like 65 or 70 percent The Summer DQ is the first one I have even tried since like the release week for the game and it probably will be my last.

    DQ reminds me of an old school game that would be on the end of a bar with some guy named Sal parked on the stool playing it while he drinks his Busch Light & smokes reds. 🤣

    I've had good luck with diamond quest doing the whole thing on all star and I think atlewst like 80% of the time I've gotten all 4 cards by doing the whole map and the two stadiums on all star

    Its never a 100% chance, prob in the 70s. It takes me a little over an hour. Then it doesn't really feel like 12-15k is worth that.

    Its not bad to me but not something I want to do regularly.

    I saw a college lefty video saying if you do conquest 4x a day on goat (bunting thru) you'll get like 1.5m stubs in 20 days. I can't play this game for 4 hrs 7 days a week lol. Then more time to keep up with spotlight and everything else.

    @ref479ode_PSN

    Even if you could, 4 hours per day for the average player without a lot of free time is ridiculous. Plus it’s not really playing the game it’s bunt cheesing the system to death to flip cards repeatedly to get the cards you actually want to play with.

    I understand the concept but it’s a ridiculous ask and covers up the much more glaring issue. The live series and collection cards prices are out of control and with nerfed packs and flipping killed it’s the only viable way to offset this.

    The summer one was especially tedious, so many 6 out missions with runners on base...so first thing I need to do is sub 99/99 guys and steal so I dont get double plays and then try to get 2 XBH in 6 outs. Its all very tedious.

    I appreciate trying something new, but I think they could have added better rewards for vs CPU on higher levels to give something for the very good players to do offline and spent the DQ development time fixing mini seasons stats and stamina

    Some people do like it so it has its place, but it feels its at the expense of other mode's rewards instead of a complementary piece

    @Teak2112_MLBTS nothing annoyed me more than playing on Goat, Beating the computer, and in the 3rd inning getting kicked out of the game, challenge over, YOU'VE JUST WAISTED YOUR TIME.

    My controversial take is they should make rewards non sellable and add a program pack instead, because most people can’t no life that mode, that would deflate the stubs in the market and bring the live series down for regular people.

    How would a non-sellable Program Pack affect LS prices?

    If they're giving out NS Grays and Ludwicks; that means there's less stubs being made. Which means people can't afford the higher priced LS cards.

    Less stubs in circulation lowers the current LS inflation. Prices stay up there because people have stubs to spend.

    Same situation we had when the federal government was giving out I think 700 per week during covid.

    @iBonafideScrub__PSN

    Textbook definition of INFLATION!!!

    Your scenario cuts supply of collection cards, cuts stubs creation, LS supply remains the same. Prices will come down, but so will the balance of stubs. Great you’ll be able to get gatekeepers cheaper, but you’ll have less stubs and still will be bitching about not being able to afford them.

    @SavageSteve_MLBTS

    I think it’s too late for this year, but next year I think making the cards non sellable at 100% at all star and giving better rewards for winning on hall of fame and above while defeating the map, would help the over circulation of Stubs for non die hards ( which we on the forum are). Most causal players ( which are not on this forum) don’t know how to win on goat with a bunt method and make 20-30k in 25 minutes on DQ and don’t want to play that way. Shohei being 700k is not the best scenario for them ( even though sneakily I think Sony likes it).

    The crazy this is that it could be easily fixed, by increasing the odds on the older DQ's. as the cards become irrelvant There is zero reason to not do this......

    I dont even play DQ anymore, and I thought it would be my favorite mode, but the other day I finally got around to wanting to finish the EggHunt DQ, and I just wanted the Easter Eggs, which are rare round. Had a 99% change of getting it on rookie, and yup, you guessed it, did not get one.

    I get stats and odds, but c'mon, I put the work into a DQ that was over 2 months ago, with a 99% chance and do not even get the rare round? Needless to say, I didnt get Rickey or Erceg either.

    Wont be playing DQ again until this is fixed...just not worth the effor. I'll just buy the cards, but since I could not buy the Eggs, I had to do it.

    At least the cards are buyable. All cards should be buyable if not part of a collection. I’d rather spend stubs I’ve earned on cards from conquest, mini seasons and showdown than actually do those modes.

    So, yes in a sense, I’d rather pay someone to do those modes for me.

    Trust me when I say that some people would have a complete hissy fit and call it unfair, even if the cards are irrelevant.

    "It took me 4 tries playing on Hall of Fame to actually succeed and earn both cards. Now any goober can come in and easily win them both on rookie? How is that fair? It's like SDS is slapping us in the face while simultaneously giving the finger to everyone who plays the content as it is released."
