HBP PXP
-
@dap1234567890_PSN I agree you should get the same 5 for HBP as you do for a walk. But I have over 28K plate appearance and have been HBP 160 times. I can live without that 800 pxp. I wonder how you are getting hit so much because in my experience HBP is really rare while batting.

Yeah, it's one of those little things that has always annoyed me too even though I know in actual practice I'm not missing out on much. Just the principle of it. Would be nice if they fixed it since it seems like it would be a small coding adjustment, but I could be wrong about that. Either way, not the end of the world but something a little irksome.

@RealMessiah_XBL I would agree that for the most part, HBPs are rare. I have 14,656 PAs, which is half of your PAs. I have only 69 HBPs, which is a little less than half your HBPs. So, yes, my numbers show only half of a single percent of the PAs conclude with a HBP. So, yes, it is rare and it hasn't happened a whole lot when looking at just the numbers without context.
However, I'll provide a little more context to why I said "I seem to get beaned a lot". Normally, my PAs would probably average around 3 pitches (SDS doesn't provides us in our statistics page number of pitches seen, so I don't know for sure). Lately, I have been drawing out my PAs longer than I usually do. I have been doing this in order to try to get more walks to finish that "My Legacy - Walks" program. Now, that I'm seeing more pitches the number of HBPs are rising for me. It is still "rare" if we look at the numbers because it is not every game and I may get upwards of about 100 PAs in a game (assuming playing a vs CPU game).
I used the term "a lot" loosely, but I was using it relative to the amount of expected number of HBPs and not relative to the number of PAs. And, I was thinking of just more recent play and not all play since March.
I also agree that I am not overly concerned about getting the PXP because I already got the P5 bat a long time ago and don't really care about which P-level my players are at. But, I do believe we should be getting PXP and XP for HBP the same as if it was a BB.
I added that sentence about it being "a lot" after I originally made the post. Maybe, I shouldn't have added that sentence because that was not what I wanted the post to be about. I wanted the post to be about not getting the PXP as the same as a BB.

It should absolutely be treated like a walk, just like it is in real baseball. Sure, I didn’t earn it by working a walk, but I also didn’t get an opportunity to hit either. That’s only fair.

@RealMessiah_XBL I don't see how you got 28K PAs. I believe you. I play this game a lot and for you to have twice as many PAs as me just surprises me. However, I guess I have taken two vacations without my PS5, but that time off hasn't been half the time since the game dropped!

For PXP you get in a single PA (assuming offline and rookie) you get 15 PXP. For a Single, you get 5 PXP. For a BB, you get 5 PXP. For a HBP, you get 0 PXP. So, if you reach base by getting a single or by walking, you get 20 PXP. However, if you reach first by getting beaned by the pitcher, you only get 15 PXP. So, everytime I get beaned I lose out on at least 5 PXP if I reach first base without a force out. I seem to get beaned a lot which means that I lose out on a lot of potential PXP.
I think we should be getting 5 PXP for HBP as we get with a walk.
We went through this like 2 months ago. You still get the opportunity to advance and score runs. You don't get bonus points for being target practice.

@SaveFarris_PSN I can see that for multiplayer as people intentionally bean their opponent for some crazy reasons! I find that funny, because they some how think that is teaching their opponent a lesson by giving them a free base.
We do get the "bonus points" if we get intentionally walked. I don't see how that is different.

You didn't do anything to "earn" a 4 pitch walk, you are just standing there waiting for a strike to swing at, and you get the pts for that,it's not like we are asking for the moon, just a little something for having the bat taken out of our hands

@PAinPA_PSN I had to go back to find that conversation as well. It is even less work if the computer/opponent just does the IBB without throwing pitches.
-
@dap1234567890_PSN I say the same thing about the people with over two times as many as me. I've played a little less than 2K 3 inning games. There are people on the Lifetime Standing vs CPU who have played over 5,000 games vs CPU. I'm usually one of the top 10 games played vs CPU at year's end but I don't think that is going to be the case this year.

@SaveFarris_PSN And I still didn’t get a chance to hit. That’s worth a measly 5 pxp.
